Scarlett’s POV:
Being bound to Lucian meant I had to witness his every moment, even when I wished I could look away. The morning after he read my second letter, I watched as Lily strode into his office, confidence radiating from every step.
She was wearing a tight red dress that emphasized her stomach, clearly trying to draw attention to her pregnancy. My ring still sparkled on her finger, its magic pulsing steadily.
“Lucian, darling,” she purred, moving to embrace him. “I’ve missed you so much!”
Lucian stepped back, his face twisted with disgust. “Didn’t I tell you not to come here anymore? Are you deaf as well as stupid?”
Lily’s smile faltered slightly, but she pressed on. “Don’t be like that. I have wonderful news!” She reached for his hand. “I went to the doctor yesterday. We’re having twins!”
Her eyes sparkled with triumph as she tried to place his hand on her stomach. “Can you believe it? Two little miracles!”
Lucian jerked away as if her touch burned him. The temperature in the room dropped several degrees as his eyes flashed red.
“Who knows if they’re even mine?” His voice was pure ice. “They could be James’s bastards for all I know.”
The color drained from Lily’s face. “What? How can you say that? I would never-”
“Wouldn’t you?” Lucian’s laugh was cruel. “You’re nothing but a whore, Lily. Prancing around in your slutty clothes, sending me nude photos at all hours. Begging me to fuck you in the forest like some bitch in heat.”
I watched with dark satisfaction as each word hit her like a physical blow. This was the sharp, cruel Lucian I remembered from our youth – before I’d softened his edges with my love.
“That’s not fair!” Lily’s voice cracked. “I did those things because I love you! Because we belong together!”
“Love?” Lucian spat the word like poison. “You don’t know the meaning of the word. You’re just a slut who can’t stand to be alone. How many men have you spread your legs for, Lily? How many others have you begged to take you like the worthless whore you are?”
Tears streamed down Lily’s face, ruining her perfect makeup. “Only you! I swear it’s only been you since James! These are your babies, Lucian. Your heirs – the future Alphas of this pack!”
Something dangerous flickered in Lucian’s eyes. “My heirs?” His voice dropped to a deadly whisper.” Get rid of them.”
“What?” Lily stumbled back, hands clutching her stomach protectively.
“You heard me.” Lucian advanced on her slowly. “I want you to terminate the pregnancy.

“But… but why?” Lily’s voice rose with hysteria. “They’re your children! Your blood!”
“My children can only come from Scarlett,” he snarled “She’s the only one worthy to bear the next Alpha. You?” His eyes raked over her with contempt. You’re nothing but a convenient hole I used for pleasure. A toy to be discarded.
I felt a twisted satisfaction watching Lily crumble under his cruel words. This was what she deserved for trying to take my place.
“You don’t mean that,” she sobbed. “You love me. All those nights we spent together, all the things you said-”
“Love?” Lucian’s laugh was razor–sharp. “I loved the idea of revenge. Of taking what used to belong to James. Of making him watch as I fucked his ex–wife in every position imaginable. But love you?” He sneered. “My heart has only ever belonged to Scarlett
“No!” Lily screamed. “You’re lying! What about all those times you chose me over her? All those nights
left her alone to be with me?”

“And I’ll regret those choices until the day I die,” Lucian growled. “You were nothing but a mistake. A moment of weakness. These cubs?” He gestured to her stomach. “They’re the product of my betrayal They don’t deserve to carry my blood.”
I watched as his words shattered what remained of Llly’s composure. She collapsed to her knees, makeup streaked with tears.
“Please,” she begged. “Don’t do this. I’ll do anything I’ll be whatever you want me to be!“She tugged at his pant leg, tilted her head back, and looked at him with her best tear–filled chutzpah expression.
“What I want,” Lucian’s voice was ice, “is for you to disappear. Take your bastards and get out of my territory.Don’t look at me with that look on your face. I’m sick of it.“He lifted his foot and kicked her in the shoulder.
Suddenly, Lily doubled over with a cry of pain. “Something’s wrong,” she gasped, clutching her stomach. “It hurts!”
The sharp smell of blood filled the air. Even as a spirit, I could sense it – metallic and threatening.
“Please,” she whimpered, her face contorted in agony “Take me to the hospital. I think… Lthink I’m losing them!”
Blood began to stain her red dress darker, spreading slowly across the fabric. She reached for Lucian desperately.
“I know you hate me,” she sobbed. “But please don’t let your children die!”
I watched conflict war across Lucian’s face. Through our bond, I felt his hatred for Lily battling with his basic inability to watch someone suffer.
The blood stain grew larger. Lily’s face was becoming alarmingly pale.
“Please,” she whispered again, her voice growing weaker. “I’ll leave after, I promise. Just… don’t let them die. Please, Lucian…”

Finally, Lucian moved. His face was a mask of cold indifference as he scooped her up.
“This changes nothing,” he said as he carried her toward the door. “I’m not letting you die in my office, but that’s all. After this, you’re gone. You and those cubs are nothing to me.”
Through our bond, I felt his self–loathing as he rushed toward his car. Every step seemed to pain him not out of concern for Lily, but because helping her felt like another betrayal of my memory.
I followed them, watching as Lucian placed her in the passenger seat. Blood was now soaking into his shirt where he’d carried her.
“Hold on,” he said coldly, starting the engine. “If you die in my car, I’ll never get the stains out.”
Even now, facing possible death, Lily still looked at him with desperate hope. “You do care,” she whispered. “Deep down, you-”
“Shut up,” Lucian cut her off. “The only reason I’m helping you is because Scarlett would want me to. She was everything you’ll never be – kind, selfless, worthy. So shut up and focus on not bleeding out.”
I drifted in the backseat, watching this scene play out.
The man who betrayed his partner is determined to do this one act of kindness to save his cheating partner- but says it’s in honor of his betrayed partner
What a ridiculous and ironic show.
