Samuel clearly noticed it too.
He reached out, gently tracing his fingers over Eddie’s eyebrows and the bridge of his nose.
Maybe the bond between a father and son was more than just shared blood–something instinctive, an invisible thread pulling

Eddie, who had been struggling moments ago, gradually calmed down.
His tear–swollen eyes blinked as he locked gazes with Samuel.
“You… what’s your name?”
Eddie hesitated for a moment before stretching out his small arms, wrapping them around Samuel’s neck.
“Eddie Lee. My mommy chose my name hoping for good fortune and safety. She said that both Daddy and I were sick, and she

Samuel’s shoulders tensed, and an uncontrollable joy flashed in his eyes.
Becky had already looked uneasy the moment Samuel let go of her.

A sharp glint flickered in her eyes, but she quickly concealed it and signaled to one of the well–dressed women nearby.
They immediately stepped forward.
“Mr. Shaw, don’t let yourself be fooled again.”
“Exactly! You’re a man, so you wouldn’t know. But we’ve had children before, and any mother can tell at a glance. That kid is, at
most, five years old!”
But this time, Samuel didn’t let go of the boy in his arms.
His gaze lowered, deep in thought.
The women exchanged glances with Becky, then pressed on.
