I lowered my head bitterly.
When I was young, I always thought that my sacrifice would pay off. I even went as far as using half of my life to get what I
wanted.
In the end, all I got in return was hurt and pain.
When Rook left for three years, I had waited for him with hope, but they had now all turned to despair.
I wanted to take Ari away with me and leave Rook.
That night, Rook did not return even after Ari fell asleep.
Ari had quietly hidden a picture of Rook under his covers while mumbling in a small voice.

“You made me mad today, Daddy. You’re a bad person! But I’ll forgive you if you take me horseback riding tomorrow.”
“Goodnight, Daddy…”
The next morning, the steward delivered an exquisite gift box to me. He told me that it was jewelry from Rook.
I opened the box questioningly and saw a set of jewelry made out of Wolf’s Eye Stone. Moon Shadow Pack’s royal insignia was carved under it.
Only a Luna had the right to wear the insignia.
However, Rook had never given me such a present.
There was a golden card next to the jewelry with some words.
It read, “Dedicated to my beloved Sera, From your always loyal Rook.”
There was even a rudimentary hand–drawn picture of them holding hands with Anna.
I smiled sadly and closed the box. “You gave it to the wrong person. This is Sera’s.”
After I had given up on him completely, all that was left was numbness.
Sera put on her Wolf’s Eye Stone jewelry and matched it with an extravagant gown. She was like a strutting peacock when she
came to me.
“Thank you for returning this set of jewelry to me, Princess Rhea. The jewelers had been careless and delivered it to the wrong person.”
“Although, you do understand what Rook meant with this, right? He can’t wait to marry me, haha.”
“You got lucky three years ago when I didn’t care about him. All I need to do now is beckon at him, and he’ll give me the entire Moon Shadow Pack. Look at how beautiful this is…”
She reached her hand out to my face. The Wolf’s Eye Stone glittered brightly.
I smiled. “Heavenly Wolf Pack has plenty of these stones. You can have them if you like them so much.”
“You!” She sneered. “There’s no point being a smart mouth when you can’t bear to leave
Rook.”
