Jasmine suddenly started laughing as she clutched her cheek. “I would rather take such a roundabout way to get at Quinn than

predicament if not for your sake, Nicholas!”
She was about to lose her mind, but Nicholas didn’t take pity on her because of that. On the contrary, his hatred for her grew.
“Don’t think I don’t know you orchestrated our so–called chance reunion. Also, wasn’t I your whole reason for returning to Heathridge?” he spat.
A hint of diffidence flashed in Jasmine’s eyes at having her lies exposed.
Nicholas continued, “I’ll give you one last chance, Jasmine. Step up and explain everything–settle this matter, and I can let you
off the hook for everything that’s happened!”
He knew how much Quinn loved her research career, yet she’d been willing to give it up for him. This time, he wanted to do something for her.
How could Jasmine possibly agree, though? If she couldn’t benefit from the situation, she would make sure Quinn suffered with
her!
Nicholas sneered and left when he saw how stubborn she was being.
