Jasmine stood stunned in place. Anger flashed in her gaze as she said, “Quinn must have told you something for you to treat me
like this, right?”
She then ran over to the glass cabinet and started taking things out. “These are all my gifts to you. You’re still keeping them after
all these years. Doesn’t that mean you love me?”
Nicholas was taken aback seeing the gifts. The cabinet was full of the gifts Jasmine had given him back then.
He tried to recall where he had placed all the gifts Quinn had given him. They were all kept in the storage room, never once taken
out by him.
Ignoring the hot stew and broken ceramic pieces on the floor, Nicholas rushed into the storage room. He started rummaging
through everything to look for Quinn’s gifts for him, but they were all gone.
He slumped to the floor and started laughing, but his emotions soon got the better of him and he started breaking down.
Jasmine came rushing over and grabbed his hands. “Why can’t you understand that she never loved you? She wouldn’t have done that during the wedding if she did! She must have wanted to ruin you completely!”
Nicholas‘ heart was filled with a suffocating pain. He never imagined that losing Quinn could hurt this much.
“Just leave, Jasmine. Leave, and don’t show yourself before me anymore.” He looked coldly at her, no longer speaking sweetly to
her.
Jasmine’s presence would only serve as a constant reminder of how much heartbreak Quinn had endured before deciding to leave.
Quinn loved Nicholas so much that she was willing to give up the thing she loved just because of his request. She even joined the
industry she hated just to stay by his side.
She once said she would never leave him as long as he did not betray their relationship. However, he never took her words to
heart–he had let her down once too often after Jasmine showed up.
Jasmine tried to say something else. However, Nicholas yanked off the necklace she had given him and slapped her.
Seeing his furious expression, she felt unresigned, yet she could only leave.
Nicholas went into the study dejectedly after she left. The study was specially prepared for Quinn, as she was a bookworm.
Initially, she would always request him to keep her company. Everything seemed so perfect whenever the two of them stayed in
the study–she would read, and he would watch her.
However, ever since Jasmine’s return, he seemed to have stopped keeping her company while she read.
Nicholas sat on Quinn’s seat and opened her computer, realizing that she had not logged out of her social media account.
He felt a tight squeeze in his chest when he checked the browsing history. He couldn’t speak from the pain he felt.
