Both my mom and Amelia looked at me, their eyes filled with concern.
I smiled and reassured them, “It’s all over now.”
The file Hayden gave to the two of them contained evidence that Isabella had contracted an STD abroad due to her improper
behavior over the years.
Now, as Christopher looked at Isabella, disgust churned in his gut.
The delicate flower he had once thought she was turned out to be a vicious carnivorous plant.
Not only had she betrayed him, but she had also secretly sold Lewis Group’s business secrets to the competition.
Because of this woman, Christopher lost the rose he had cared for and raised since childhood.
Timothy drove Isabella out of the Lewis family.
The two of them tried every way they could to approach me to apologize and to make amends.
But due to the Sanford family and the Kingsley families, they were turned away at the door.
Yet, none of us had fully accounted for Isabella. We had underestimated her cruelty.
Now, Isabella was left with nothing. Driven to desperation by Timothy and Christopher, she appeared suddenly near the
newlywed home Jacob and I shared.
She pulled out a knife and cut her own hand. Then, she lunged at us, swinging the blade wildly.
“Helena, why do you get to have all of this?! Why do you get to meet someone who loves you? Why is everyone in your life so kind
to you? I hate people like you, who get everything handed to them without lifting a finger.
“My life has been ruined! If it weren’t for you driving me away, I never would’ve gone abroad and met the wrong people. I
wouldn’t have contracted this terminal illness! Now Timothy and Christopher are going crazy, exposing everything about me.
You’ve destroyed my life!”
I looked at the frenzied Isabella before me, a cold glint in my eyes.
“Isabella, you’re the one who came to me asking for money. You’re the one who claimed you needed to go abroad.
“Aren’t all of our lives just the choices we make? Even Timothy and Christopher were your choices!
“Your downfall is entirely your own doing.”
But Isabella was beyond reasoning. Her eyes were bloodshot as she lunged at me.
“Since my life is ruined, don’t even think of having a good life either! Let’s all go to hell together!”
