Chapter 6 Paternity test results
Zane picked up the pictures and jerked around, his eyes locking on Vanessa, who was slowly backing away, the veins in his temples throbbing violently.
“How dare you?!”
The moment she realized she had been exposed, Vanessa spun around to flee. But with a simple wave of Zane’s hand, someone grabbed her like a helpless chick and dragged her back.]
You claimed you wanted to protect Leora’s dignity. Said you’d take care of the photos yourself. Is this your idea of ‘destroying them?”
“Vanessa, when did you learn to lie to me?“]
One of the officers stepped forward with a file in hand, flipping it open.
“Miss Vanessa, correct? The event coordinator informed us that these explicit materials were supplied by you. Would you like to make a statement?”
Vanessa panicked, her eyes darting to Zane for help. She immediately donned a pitiful expression, voice choking with emotion.
Zane, you have to believe me… I can explain, I swear…
Normally, Zane might have melted.]
But not tonight.
His expression remained cold, unmoved. You can explain all you want–to the police.
Vanessa stared at him, disbelief crashing over her like a tidal wave. Her composure crumbled, and she screamed hysterically:
Oh, give me a break! You think you’re so clean? Sure, I handed over the photos–but I didn’t take them!“]]
Her voice grew louder and sharper, turning toward the crowd.
“You all saw them, didn’t you? That woman in the photos is Leora! She had a grand time with three men at once!”
“Shut up!” Zane slammed the table, his voice thunderous with rage.
But Vanessa didn’t flinch. If anything, she grew bolder.[]
“What? Suddenly you want to play the loving husband now? Where was that energy when you and your two buddies drugged and raped your own wife? Don’t forget–it was you who took those pictures!
The room fell into a suffocating silence
Every gaze in the hall turned to Zane–shocked, stunned, and full of judgment. But no one dared to utter a word.]
Zane trembled with fury. His hand flew up and struck Vanessa hard across the face. Her cheek immediately swelled, blood trickling from the corner of her mouth–but she only laughed, sharp and venomous. Wasn’t that the point? For the pictures to be seen? You had them printed, brought them to the office–I thought you wanted people to see them. Guess I misunderstood, huh? Master Zane.”

Before everyone’s eyes, the ever–proud and upright Zane finally bowed his head, just slightly.
He raised a trembling hand… and slapped himself.]
Then he slowly lifted both hands in surrender,
“She’s right,” he muttered. “It’s all true. Arrest me.
The monent Zane was taken away for questioning, the news spread like wildfire through elite circles.
His parents moved quickly, throwing their full weight behind suppressing the scandal They spared no expense, using every connection to extract their son from the police station Back home, Zane stood in the room that once overflowed with Leora’s presence.
Now it reeked of guilt, betrayal, and the filth he had left behind.
He knelt beside her side of the bed, overwhelmed by the crushing realization of what he had done to her.
Since the day they married, Leora had been endlessly patient. She had tolerated his coldness, his favoritism toward Vanessa, and his emotional distance–all without complaint.
She’d remained gentle, quiet, endlessly understanding.. hoping, always hoping, that one day he’d turn around and see her.[]
Zase had only ever indulged Vanessa because of a promise–a foolish vow made in youth. Out of guilt, he gave her everything.
But in doing so he forgot who his wife really was.]
The woman who gave everything up for hun
Clenching his fists, Zane grabbed his hair, the sharp pain in his scalp nothing compared to the agony in his chest.]
His phone buzzed
