Chapter 20
The moment Adam mentioned who he was, Sirius flew into a rage.
Sirius knew that Ginnie’s ex had done all those horrible things to her before but never thought that he would be shameless
enough to show up here as if it was his right to do so. He even expected Ginnie to get back together with him!
He grabbed Adam’s collar tightly. “You’re Adam Grant? You’re that monster, then! I’ve been wanting to find some time to teach you a lesson, but you have saved me the trouble!”
Sirius had already clenched his fists, but Adam still showed no fear.
The reporters who had been interviewing Sirius soon followed. When they saw this, their eyes went wide, and they raised their
cameras.
This was Sirius’s first offline art exhibition as Orion. Ginnie could not let Adam’s arrival ruin it.
She hurriedly went forward and pulled Adam and Sirius apart before they started fighting. She shook her head at Sirius. “Don’t
butt into this. Let me handle it.”
She
then said coldly to Adam, “This isn’t the place for you to cause a ruckus. Come with me.”
Once they sat down in a cafe near the art exhibition, Ginnie leveled the man before her with an icy stare. “What other questions
do you have? Ask them all today. After this, we have nothing to do with each other anymore.
From the first moment he saw Ginnie today, she had thrown far too many heartless words at him. In the past, Ginnie would never
be so cold to him.
Adam’s heart squeezed in pain, and he practically pleaded to her, “I’ve been living every single day with regret ever since you faked your death, and I’ve taken revenge on all the people who hurt you before. I’ve learned that I deserve the worst punishment of all. Thank goodness God decided to give me a chance to make it up to you and let me see you.
“I was wrong for everything that happened. I won’t ask for your forgiveness, just please, don’t give me the cold shoulder. I’m willing to make it up to you for the rest of my life, and I’ll take responsibility for the physical and mental hurt you’ve suffered.
“I also dream of our baby calling me Daddy all the time. Ginnie, you must think of her often as well. I gave her a name. Zyanya Grant. I promise you, I’ll adore you forever, just like I did in the beginning. Please come back and give birth to Zyanya again,
okay?”
Despite hearing Adam’s loving words, Ginnie felt no emotions in her heart.
She only trembled momentarily at the mention of her baby. Then, she put on a bitter smile.
“Stop lying
lying to yourself, Adam. The baby’s dead. I thought about it long and hard before I came to the firm decision to abort her.
“I don’t want my baby to be born into a family without love. Of course, I don’t want to keep pestering a man who doesn’t love
- me.

Adam immediately refuted her, “No, that’s not true. How could I not love you? Ginnie, I’ve been hopelessly in love with you since
a long time ago, but I was blind and mistook you for someone else. I thought that Snow was my savior, and that’s why I kept siding with her and made you sad. But I’ve realized my true feelings now. Right from the start, you’re the only person I’ve ever
loved.”
Ginnie sneered. “You never learned anything, Adam. You’re just regretting your actions after realizing that I’m the girl from your past. The person you love will change with just the snap of a finger, and I want no part of it.”
She had already said her piece and had nothing else to say to him.
But just as Ginnie wanted to leave, Adam threw himself at her feet. “It doesn’t matter whether you’re the girl from all those years: ago, I will always love you. What do I need to do for you to believe in me and give me another chance?
“The greatest mistake I made was breaking your arm. How about I make
it up to you by breaking my arm?”
With that said, he grabbed a fork from the table and stabbed himself.
Splurt!
Sharp pain spread from his wound, and it hurt so much that Adam broke out in cold sweat, but he did not make a single sound
because he knew that Ginnie had once gone through much greater pain, and this was what he deserved
Ginnie just watched emotionlessly as his face turned paler and blood soaked through his sleeve.
In the end, she shut her eyes and said before she left, “Stop doing these pointless acts. The Ginnie you loved is dead.”
Adam fell to the floor weakly, but his eyes remained fixed on Ginnie as she left. His gaze was determined and sharp.
No! He would not give up!
He would bring Ginnie back to his side, even if it meant destroying himself in the process.
