But Ginnie had yet to wake up from the anesthesia of the first surgery, so making her go through another surgery was really dangerous.
Sirius frowned and said to his assistant, “Bring the special drugs over.”
His assistant was stunned for a moment before he realized what Sirius meant. He said fearfully, “We can’t, Dr. Xander. Mr. Xander said that since doctors can’t treat themselves, he bought that drug for you. It’s to save you if you run into danger in the
future
“Enough talk. Drugs are made to save lives. Bring it over!”
ever heard Sirius adopt such a stern voice before.
The assistant had never heard
Since the situation was critical, he could only obey orders.
After the nerve–racking surgery, Ginnie was finally completely out of the danger zone.
Due to the intense workload and the stress caused by nerves, Sirius collapsed before Ginnie woke up.
Another day passed before Ginnie finally opened her eyes.
Once he learned of the news, Sirius immediately dragged his ailing body to her bed.
Ginnie was surprised. “Why are you wearing a hospital gown too? Are you sick as well?”
The nurse who was giving Ginnie a new IV bag said, “Dr. Xander got sick from overwork because of you. You have to rest and
recover properly to ensure his efforts aren’t in vain.”
Ginnie immediately bit her lip in guilt.
But Sirius just gave her a gentle smile as he held her hand. “It’s just a mild one. It’s nothing. Congratulations on your successful surgery, by the way. You have to relax and recover now. Why don’t we recover together? I’ll keep you company all the way.”
The warmth from his palm seemed to give energy to Ginnie’s entire body.
She blinked and gave Sirius a similarly warm smile. “Sure.”
Three months later, aside from being unable to lift heavy things, Ginnie’s arm had practically recovered to its uninjured state from before.
It was thanks to Sirius staying constantly by her side over the past three months. He participated in her follow–up treatments and thought of all sorts of ways to speed up her recovery.

At the same time, Ginnie discovered to her surprise that she seldom thought about Adam anymore.
Under Sirius and Gray’s endless love, her ridiculous past with Adam seemed to have become something that happened many
years ago.
Even the wounds left on her arm for Adam were about to close up.
The sight of his granddaughter’s recovery also made Gray delighted.
He threw a party and invited Sirius along to celebrate Ginnie’s recovery.
During the party, Gray and Sirius toasted Ginnie, though they held wine while she drank juice. All of them drank their drinks in.
one shot.
After downing two glasses of wine, Gray smiled at Sirius and Ginnie. “Ginnie, do you remember the times you spent with Ginnie
when you were young?”
Stunned, Ginnie shook her head.
Sirius took over the conversation.
“Gray, Ginnie was less than three at that time. She can’t possibly remember. But I do remember how she looked. She was fair and really tender. She always reached out to me to hug her and chased after me like a marshmallow.”
Ginnie’s face turned red. That did sound like something she would do.
Gray recalled that and lamented, “If she hadn’t been kidnapped, you wouldn’t have been separated from Ginnie. Perhaps both of you would have honored your engagement and gotten married!”
The words Gray said shocked Ginnie so much that she choked on the juice she was drinking.
Sirius hurriedly patted her back.
“Are you serious, Grandpa? Was I really engaged to Sirius when I was a child?”
