Finley pushed open the office door. Renee was sprawled on the couch.
“Finley, you’re back?” she said, all casual.
“What do you want?”
He ignored her, flipping through documents on his desk. The company was a mess, and he had zero time for Renee’s games.
“I already told you there’s nothing left to say. You should leave.”
“You really are heartless, huh?” She sauntered over, eyes cold.
Finley finally looked up–and did a double take.
Gone was the fresh–faced Renee he used to know. Her lips were painted a bold red, her sleek black hair now cascading in big, dramatic waves. She wore a slit dress with thin straps that hugged every curve.
“Renee, what-”
“Like what you see?” She smirked. “Do you?”

She smoothed her dress, flashing a smile. “Oh, nothing big. Just heard you were trying to meet Mr. Wright and Mr. Lopez. Thought I’d help out.”

With that, Renee turned on her heels and left, her high heels clicking against the floor.
Finley watched her go, unease twisting in his gut. She felt… off. Like someone else entirely.

By the time 8 p.m. rolled around, Finley was already at Nocturne.
Through the crack in the private room door, he immediately spotted Rence.
She was draped over the lap of a fat man, laughing flirtatiously as she sipped red wine. The man’s hand rested shamelessly on her chest, and she didn’t seem to care.
Fury erupted in Finley as he burst into the room.
“Renee, what the hell are you doing?”
