Ethan Sullivan coughed and straightened himself.“The freshman gala at university–you were breathtaking on the dance floor.Impossible to forget.” His ears reddened slightly as he finished speaking.
Against the backdrop of the evening, Ethan had an almost like a mythical creature designed to tempt one into desire.
Adele found herself drawn to him inexplicably. She followed him to his house.
Once seated in his room, Adele suddenly realized the impropriety of her situation–alone with a complete stranger in an unfamiliar town at night.
A silent, charged atmosphere filled the space. Feeling awkward, Adele hastily introduced a random topic of conversation.
“You went to Cambridge too?”
“Yes. I was in a car accident during my junior year. Since then, I come here around this time every year to recuperate.”
Noticing Adele’s discomfort, Ethan unconsciously elaborated to ease her tension.
“A car accident?”
“Yes. At that time…”
Seeing her interest in his story, Ethan brightened. Adele might not remember him, but he had carried her in his heart all these years.
He had followed her–her relationships, her engagement, and finally her marriage–only then had he forced himself to stop keeping track of her life.

Back to home, Ithan couldn’t sleep He hadn’t been nearly as calm in Adele’s presence as he’d pretended to be. In fact, he’d had to work hard to control his heartbeat, afraid it might pound too loudly and startle her.
His phone chimed with a message from his assistant. Reading it, Ethan could help but smile.
“Found out that at Byron Luwelton’s birthday celebration a few days ago, his childhood sweetheart publicly announced that he and Miss Adele DelaSalle are divorced. She then confessed her feelings to Byron. More details tomorrow.”
She was divorced. His chance had finally arrived. This was truly the best news he’d heard in ages
Adele, who hadn’t dreamed in quite some time, strangely had one that night. he dreamed of her college days before meeting Byron. Once, while getting food in the cafeteria, she had lost her meal card and her phone was dead.
Just as the situation was becoming awkward, a handsome hand had appeared offering a card to pay for her meal. The fingers were long, elegant, and fair–exactly her type. Adele had always been drawn to nice hands. By the time she turned around to thank the owner, she only caught a glimpse of his retreating figure.
Waking up, Adele recalled how Ethan’s hands had looked equally beautiful when he opened the door last night.
Shocked at herself for thinking about a man she’d just met, Adele blushed.
Opening her door and stepping outside, another beautiful day had dawned.
Walking along the quiet street, she felt her heart fill with peace.
“What a coincidence.”
The sight of Ethan approaching and greeting her made Adele blush again.
“Well, you’re out for a walk too,” she replied, immediately realizing she’d asked something obvious.
“Yes,” he nodded.

Ethan felt somewhat defeated as he watched Adele walk away after just a brief exchange.
