“What are you wearing? And why did you shower?” Ethan demanded, grabbing Tessa by the collar and pulling her close.
Startled, she stumbled, nearly losing her balance.
Furious at the sight, Zachary pushed himself up from the ground. He roared, “Ethan!”
Ethan stared at Tessa and realized that her eyes were unfocused. He froze. “What’s wrong with your eyes?”
Tessa replied calmly, “I can’t see. Will you let me go?”
“You-”
Zachary lunged forward, shoving Ethan away and pulling Tessa behind him. “Haven’t you hurt her enough, Ethan? You took her corneas to fix another woman’s eyes, and now she’s blind! What else do you want from her?”
Ethan stood frozen, his gaze locked on Tessa in disbelief. “She’s blind? That can’t be. She’s pretending, isn’t she? What’s wrong with her eyes?”
Zachary sneered. “Pretending? What a devoted husband you’ve been. Her vision’s been failing for a long time, and you never even noticed! Worse, you stole the corneas she’d been waiting for.
“Who in this world is more heartless than you? You would destroy the woman who shares your bed without a second thought! Now that your beloved has new corneas and her sight’s been restored, will you finally let Tessa go?”
Ethan was still stunned when Zachary’s scornful remark snapped him back to the moment. His tone turned icy as he said, “This is between us. It’s none of your business. Keep your nose out of it! And you, come with me!”
He moved past Zachary and grabbed Tessa’s wrist.
“Let go!”
Tessa fought back, her face tight with panic. She couldn’t see a thing.
Zachary struck without warning, his fist slamming into Ethan and sending him sprawling. “Are you blind? She’s terrified! Back off! You abandoned her when she needed you. She’ll never need you again!”
Ethan wiped the blood from the corner of his lips and rose to his feet, his rage burning as Zachary stood firm in front of Tessa. Ethan’s eyes locked onto her, hard and unyielding. “Come here, Tessa. You’re coming home with me. Do you hear me?”
Tessa spoke flatly. “Ethan, I’ve signed the divorce agreement. Like I said before, I’m not asking for anything except the divorce. Please sign them quickly so we can get this over with.”
Her repeated insistence on the divorce only fueled Ethan’s anger.
“You’re coming with me!” He strode forward, ready to drag her away.
However, Zachary moved to block him, and in seconds, the two men grappled violently.

Although she couldn’t see, Tessa heard the sharp thuds of blows and Zachary’s pained grunt. She had no way of knowing how
badly he was hurt.
Desperate, she cried, “Zaç, are you okay? Ethan Ziegler, I’m begging you. Just leave me alone! Look at me! What else could you possibly want?”
Tears welled in Tessa’s eyes, her throat aching from screaming.
Ethan’s hand froze midair as Zachary’s fist struck him.
Zachary glared at Ethan. “Tess, don’t plead with him. We’ll take him to court if he doesn’t agree to the divorce. I’ll help you!”
Ethan’s temper flared. “Who the hell are you to interfere?”
“Ethan, you’ve brought Tess to tears. Can’t you see that? Or have her feelings never mattered to you? Does it even make a difference if she
cries?”
