hurts, I think about that night on the hill. It still terrifies me.”
Sandra tried to remind Jack that my death was well deserved, but Jack merely placed a finger on her lips.
“Shh, don’t wake Whitney up.”
Initially, Sandra was stunned. Then, she held his face up to look at him, seeing if he had gone mad.
Before she could react, someone opened the door.
Albert strode in with a group of men dressed in black.
“Ms. Chambers, we meet again.”
Sandra got up and greeted Albert politely.
Albert harrumphed. “You can save your breath. I don’t need your greetings. I’m here today to give you a final chance. Tell Jack
what you’ve done.”

Jack and I looked at Sandra at the same time.
Sandra tried to cover her nervousness with a smile. “Mr. Lacroix, what are you talking about? What did I do? I’m just a girl from
the countryside. What powers do I have?”
Albert took a seat on the chair the man had brought him. “Cut the crap. I’m not Jack. This won’t fool me.”
He raised his hand. His subordinates brought two men forward and threw them onto the ground.
I took a closer look. It was the man who assaulted me and the doctor who took my placenta.
“I’m sure you’re familiar with these two people, Ms. Chambers. Since you won’t admit to it, I’ll tell Jack.”
At that moment, it finally struck me that it had been Sandra all along.
