Chapter 8
Stuck at the police station, Sienna kept loudly demanding to see Zachary.
Out of options, the police summoned Zachary to the station again.
“We can’t convict her of anything, so all we can do is detain her for a few days. But she’s causing a scene every single day. We
can’t handle her,” a police officer told us with a sigh before leaving.
Zachary and I visited Sienna together at the detention center.
When she saw me, she froze for a second before screaming like a madwoman, asking, “Why did you come back? Why didn’t you just die?
“This is all your fault! Because of you, Zach doesn’t want me anymore! I’m telling you. Don’t even think about taking Zach away
from me. I will be with him forever!”
Exhausted from all the screaming, she slumped to the ground, her voice turning sorrowful. “Why doesn’t Zach want me? I’m the one he loves. He promised me…”
Seeing her, I couldn’t help but feel a tinge of pity.
“Do you really think he left you because of me?” I asked, crouching down. “Did you think that he would go back to you if you pretended to lose your memory?
“Well, you’re right. Now he’s yours forever.”
I turned and left.
Zachary ran out after me.
“I know you’re hurt, and I know it’s all my fault,” he said. “But I really hope that you can give me another chance.”
“What about Sienna? Are you really going to leave her?” I asked.
“I’ll deal with her. I promise you that she will never bother us ever again.”
He looked so determined, like he had finally realized how much damage his past actions had caused to our relationship.
“I admit that I have made a lot of mistakes in the past, but I hope that you can give me a chance to make things right.”
I was silent for a moment. I didn’t know how to feel. All I knew was that his behavior had long eroded my love and trust for him.
“I need time, Zachary,” I told him eventually.
He nodded and did not continue to push. “I’ll respect whatever decision you make.”
