Anne came to her senses and quickly denied it, but then anxiously asked, “Could there be a mistake? Is the winner supposed to be
someone else?”
“Please don’t question the competence of our company’s staff. Ms. Miller, kindly return to your seat!”
Anne didn’t want to move, but under the host’s sharp gaze, she shuffled back to her seat.
The host gave her a cold look and said to the audience, “If she can make a mistake with such a simple task, it seems this so–called Brookshire business powerhouse isn’t as capable as everyone imagines.
“Now, I will announce the bidding results myself.”
He picked up the card from the floor and made the formal announcement.
“I declare that the winning company for this bid is Landon Limited, owned by… Ms. Linda Turner.”
“Now, may I invite Ms. Linda Turner to the stage.”
Under the stunned gazes of Nelson and Ben, I stood up, straightened my clothes, and slowly walked onto the stage, giving the audience a perfectly graceful smile.

“Hello everyone, I’m Linda Turner, owner of Landon Limited.
“I’m very honored to become Trada Corp’s partner company. In the future, I hope to receive support and assistance from all my Brookshire business colleagues. Let’s benefit mutually and progress together.”
The audience was completely silent.
Obviously, most people had assumed Anne would win the bid, and the actual result left them momentarily speechless.
But soon the hall filled with congratulations.
“Congratulations, Ms. Turner!”
“Linda, looking forward to working with you.”
“Congratulations! Ms. Turner, you’re truly accomplished for someone so young!”
I smiled and acknowledged each greeting, which prompted even more cheers.
Businesspeople value profit over sentiment–as long as they could get a piece of the pie in future collaborations, they didn’t really care who won the bid.
But soon, a voice that clashed with the celebratory atmosphere rang out.
“Linda Turner, you’ve really gone too far this
time.”
