disgust.
“I told you not to pull these little schemes. I was planning on keeping you around because you still had some use, but you’ve really gone too far. You reached out to Wayne and his group to slander Jaycie? Seems I’ve been too lenient with you.”
He gripped her chin, forcing her to look up at him. She shook her head, but there was no sympathy in his eyes.
“Cole, Jaycie is the daughter of the richest man in Housleton, but she lied to you for five years about her background. Now that
we’ve crossed her, do you still think she has any feelings for you? Why wait for her to get her revenge when we can team up and
crush the Stantons once and for all?”

Chapter 21
Hearing her words, Cole finally loosened his grip on Eileen’s chin.

It was true. Jaycie had lied to him for five years, hiding her true identity. If he’d known earlier that she was the daughter of a billionaire, he never would’ve had to consider an arranged marriage with someone else.
He hadn’t minded the fake identity she’d given him, and he was willing to keep her by his side. But now, she had taken advantage of him, dumped him, and caused him a huge loss.
Why should he keep trying to protect her elevated status? He figured he should just let her fall, and when she was cornered with no other choice, she would come crawling back to him.
After all, when she left, she’d thrown everything away–everything that symbolized their relationship. If they stuck to their story, wouldn’t she just end up branded as a mistress?
Cole finally released Eileen and looked at her with a flicker of satisfaction in his eyes. “You’d better work hard to bring her down from that high horse of hers.”
With that, he turned and left Eileen’s mansion without a second glance.
