The competition for the project was fierce. Not only were TruVision and Benson Corp involved, but most of the top–tier families
from Housleton were also participating. Of course, there were also people like Cole, who had come from another city.
Due to the large number of participants, the organizers decided to hold a banquet and invited all the competing companies to
attend.
When Megan delivered the invitation, she gave Jaycie a knowing wink.
Jaycie, looking at her with confusion, wondered if she had missed some important detail. She stared at Megan, utterly lost. “Aunt
Megan, is there something else?”
Megan, hearing her words, shot her a sideways glance. Seeing that Jaycie had seemingly forgotten the plans they had discussed
days ago, Megan didn’t tease her any longer. Instead, she gave Jaycie a playful tap on the shoulder.
“Well, didn’t we talk about you meeting my friend’s son? He’s been busy lately and couldn’t find the time, but now that he’s
going to the bidding event, you two can meet up there!”
The mention of a blind date made Jaycie feel slightly speechless. Considering the context of the meeting, she couldn’t help but
laugh and shake her head.
“Aunt Megan, if we’re both going to compete, wouldn’t that make us rivals? You really want me to have a blind date with my competition at a bidding event? You’re one of a kind!”
She gave her a thumbs up to emphasize the absurdity, but Megan wasn’t bothered in the slightest.
“So what? Just because you’re competitors on the floor doesn’t mean you can’t meet outside of it. And if you meet first, maybe
you can use some charm to your advantage, right? I’ve done some digging. While this guy hasn’t dated anyone before, he was in
love with a girl once. Guess what? She’s just like you!”
