“Honey, when did you get here?” Julian clutched his head in pain, wincing. For a grown man, he looked downright pathetic, cowering like a frightened kitten in front of Eleanor and trembling as if he wanted nothing more than to disappear into the floor.
I politely greeted Eleanor and briefly explained the situation. She just nodded at me before locking her eyes back on Julian.
Julian knelt down shakily, trying to dodge, but was beaten miserably by Eleanor.
She scolded him fiercely while hitting, “No wonder it takes you so long to buy groceries! When will you stop sneaking around? Last time, you secretly liked Vivienne’s videos on TikTok and even called her ‘baby.‘ Now you’re chasing after another woman, hoping to climb up the social ladder.
“You’re a grown man! Why are you pathetic? Instead of working hard and making money, you only know how to flirt and take
advantage of women.
“Just look in the mirror—your face is covered in wrinkles. Apart from me, which woman would be blind enough to marry you? You don’t appreciate what you have and even think about divorcing me? I’ll beat you to death, you heartless man!”
The scene was too brutal. I covered Liam’s eyes and quickly slipped home through a side street.
