“Mr. Odegaar,” Gustavo’s voice cut through his train of thoughts before they could go any further. “I’m prescribing some pills for Ms. Remington, to keep the pain and attacks under control, but with the speed at which her condition is deteriorating, she needs to undergo surgery as soon as possible.”
“What?” The news has Gadreel frowning.
Evangeline’s condition had deteriorated? And she needed surgery Immediately?
“Oh, my poor baby,” Samantha walled “This is all happening because she had suffered so much aboard. If only. she had stayed, or at least called you like I suggested, thing wouldn’t have gotten to this extent, but she didn’t want to worry you, now look at her.”
Samantha’s words had Gadreel feeling guilty.
“Is there no other way?” Gadreel asked, because the surgery was very risky.
“Yes,” Dr. Gustavo nodded.
“What is that?” Everyone looked at him expectantly.
“We have seen the description of Alex Long’s newly developed wonder drug for treating heart disease in the paper. Although it has not been launched on the market yet, I am confident that it will be effective in treating Miss Remington,” Dr. Gustavo replied.
“That’s great. Ivan, you’ll get better soon.” Samantha excitedly hugged Ivan.
Gadriel’s brow relaxed, and he immediately wanted to contact the CEO of Alex Long. He said goodbye to Ivan, but she held him back.

Gadriel was stunned, and everyone was looking at him. Before Ivan’s cough became worse, he went over and kissed her on the forehead. “Sleep, my love.”
Everyone was relieved, and Ivan immediately urged Gadriel to get to work. Gadriel waved his hand and left. He unconsciously wiped his mouth. He didn’t realize that the kiss had made him uncomfortable. Why? He believed that the person he loved was Ivan. She didn’t even look like Ivory. She acted innocent, but she found another man before she divorced him.
But Ivan only has him.
On his way out, he called his assistant. Ezekiel answered after the second ring
“Sir?”
‘Ezekiel, I need you to fast track the acquisition of Elixiron Seated at the back of his car, while his driver drove him home, Gadreel scrolled through the company details once again.
Although Elixiron was relatively new to the medical industry, five years to be precise, it was steadily growing in popularity and expanding its services and producing more drugs.
Coincidentally, one of those drugs happens to be a key drug that could help in the treatment of Evangeline’s heart
disease.
It was a win–win, so of course Gadreel was going to go for the company.
“I understand Sir, but, that’s going to be a bit tasking.”
Gadreel looked up from his tablet and frowned. “How so?”

Chapter 5 Way To Si
“Elixiron is said to get a new CEO soon, so our chances of acquiring the company will be lowered.”
Gadreel thought over his assistant’s words and although Ezekiel was right, Gadreel refused to even consider the thought of backing down.
He wanted Elixiron and he was going to get it, no matter what.
“It’s fine, proceed as planned and just do whatever it takes for fasten the process.”
“Yes Sir.”
The call ended after that and Gadreel’s car pulled into the courtyard of his house. Stepping out of the car and into his house, Gadreel couldn’t help but frown at the sudden quietness of his Vila.
Almost as if something, originally meant to be there, had gone missing,
At that very moment, Ivory’s face flashed in his mind and his frown deepened.
It couldn’t be possible.
Although they have been married for five years, all that time spent with her, was like a foggy memory locked in the back of his mind.
Only did he recall the relationship he had with Evangeline and the promise he had made to her when they were little.
He had promised her that he was going to protect her, marry her and have her bear his children.
And he planned on keeping that promise, despite the unfortunate event that had separated them for years.
Now that he’s found her again, he was going to keep that promise.
As Gadreel retreated to his study, he realized, it was indeed a blessing in disguise that Ivory had filled for a divorce.
Now he could carry on with his initial plan for him and Evangeline.
But for some reason, he felt deep down in his heart, that this path he was treading wasn’t the right one.
