“Wow Ivy,” Emma gushed, looking at the dress she had adorned for the auction event. “You look stunning.”
“You think so?” Ivory inquired, standing in front of the mirror and taking in her reflection.
For the auction, she had chosen to wear something subtle, not too shouting, at the same time, enough to leave an impression and draw the attention of those she wanted.
It was a sleeveless black jumpsuit that had a deep V–neck, exposing just enough skin to be considered classy. Her hair, safe for a few strands of baby hair that defined the edges of her face, was tied up in a messy bun, and a black ribben wrapped around the base.
To finish her look, a pair of diamond earrings and a bracelet completed the outfit.
“Ivy, I can’t even recognize you anymore.” Emma exclaimed, taking in the beauty that was her friend. “You look stunning, gorgeous, elegant, all these words are just not enough and I’m sure those bastards are going to be drooling.”
Ivory chuckled at this. Just then, she got a text message from Lucien informing her of his arrival.
“That’s me,” She announced, picking up her purse and heading towards the door. “Thanks for assisting me, Em.”
“Anytime,” Emma returned as she waves her off. “And you have fun.”
“Thanks. I’ll see you soon.” Ivory waved back as she stepped out.
As she descended the stairs, she spotted Lucien waiting by his car. He, much like her, had dressed for the occasion, dawning a black three piece suit and a simple coat of matching color.
He smiled and approached her when he saw her, offering his hand to her as she approached the last stairs.
Ivory did not hesitate to take his hand, thanking him for the assistance as she descended the final stairs.
“You look lovely,” Lucien complimented, massaging her knuckles with his thumb as they walked towards his car.
“You don’t look so bad yourself.” Ivory teased, earning a chuckle from Lucien as he held open the
passenger door for her, waiting until she was seated before he went to the driver’s seat.
“I’ll take that as a compliment,” Came his response as he turned the car on. But before driving, he turned to look at her. “How you holding up?”
The question, although It was somewhat unexpected from Lucien, wasn’t foreign for her.
In fact, she had been asking herself similar questions all night and giving pep talks, trying to calm the nerves that were nervous about her first big event.
She had never done something like this before, after all.
“I’m okay, I guess.” She answered, but her answer wasn’t enough for Lucien. He wanted a more direct answer, a clear one.
“V??”
At his questioning tone, she glanced up, meeting his gaze. She could him worried about her and that eased her nerves a bit.
“I’m fine.” She flashed him a reassuring smile. “really am.”
Her answer didn’t seem enough, but Lucien didn’t push further. Reaching out, he gently stroked the top of her head, careful not to mess up her hair style.
“You have to be,” He stated, holding eye contact “Not only for your sake, but for the sake of Elixiron.” His hand linger on her hair a minute longer before he pulled away.
“Now, let’s get going, after all, Elixiron’s gonna be the star of tonight’s event.
As he started driving away, Ivory glanced at the passing landscape and steeled her jaws.
Yeah, Lucien was right. She need to be okay for her company’s sake. Tonight, she needed to be Ivory Remington, CEO of Elixiron and damn every other thing.
Gadreel included, because tonight, was the real start of her journey as the CEO of Elixiron.
Evangeline knew she had always been a seeker of thrill and attention. That was p reason she had strived to become a top actress.

She enjoyed those moments, so it wasn’t a surprise when she found herself feeing over the roof for all the attention she was receiving when she stood at the entrance of the auction.
The whispers, the cameras and the eyes of women that held envy had her basking in the glory and pride.
She shamelessly clung closer to Gadreel when the whispers grew.
