Chapter 26
However, as soon as that feeling crossed her mind, she dismissed it. Everyone has their own. share of stories, and although hers wasn’t pleasant, she could handle it and move on, rather than comparing it with others and wishing things were different.
“Ah, you can drop me off here, Ivy,” Emma spoke, interrupting Ivory’s train of thoughts.
They had reached the front of the house.
“Are you sure, I can just-”
“No need,” Emma said, shaking her head. “I’ll walk. My place is close by.
Ivory nodded.
“Thanks, for tonight.” She said and Emma smiled.
“Anytime.”
They hugged, then Emma stepped out. Ivory waved her goodbye and once she was out of sight, the driver asked.
“Where to Miss?”
Ivory hesitated. She wanted at this very moment to come down and go with Emma or find a suitable hotel around to rent, but couldn’t as she had promised Gabriella that she’d be spending the night and accompany her for breakfast the following day.
A stupid decision, now that she thought about it. But could she really be blamed? I mean, not everyone has the balls to say no to a lovely elderly like Gabriella.
Sighing, Ivory gave the driver the address and they set off. Upon arriving, Ivory paid him and. stepped out. The driver pulled off and Ivory headed in.
As usual, the staff were still bustling about. One of them approached her the moment she
entered.
“Miss, welcome. Would you like us to prepare anything for you to
“No, It’s alright,” She cut in and smiled. “Please let grandmother know I’ve returned and if she needs anything, I’ll be in the shower.”
The servant nodded and rushed off to do as instructed. Ivory on the other hand, headed up stairs, went straight to the bathroom to shower, because after everything today, she needed a nice warm bath to relax and wash the stress and frustration away.
Gadreel sat in the study connected to his bedroom at the estate, trying to focus on whatever
small work he could get done.
However, the image of a certain person was constantly invading his mind, preventing him from doing just that.
No matter how hard he tried to push her out of his head, his efforts were futile. And this only managed to further irritate him.
Growling, he leaned back on the couch and closed his eyes, taking a deep breath, and counting silently in his head, trying to case the anger that had been building up inside him since earlier
today.
The silence and tranquility was broken when his phone dinged loudly, indicating that at message had just entered.
Gadreel cracked open his eyes and reached for his phone. He swiped his thumb across the screen and typed in his password.
A single message from Mickey was on the notification tab. Gadreel opened the message, a frown forming on his face.
It was picture of Ivory smiling at a man. They were on a race track venue, judging from the background, but Gadreel didn’t pay any attention to those small details, the man included, he could only see his back.
Rather, he focused on Ivory. The dress she was wearing was the same one she had been wearing hours ago, suggesting that the photo had been taken today.
And if that was true, then it meant that after leaving, she had gone to the date Emma had planned for her.
Gritting his teeth, Gadreel’s eyes darkened.
as
How much more shameless could she get. She couldn’t restrain herself from flocking around with another man for just one more day?
She had to go ahead and be so shameless.
He closed his eyes again and pinched the bridge of his nose, trying to calm himself down, because he was sure, anymore of Ivory Shenanigans would drive him mad.
He didn’t have time for this and he couldn’t let his emotions get the better of him. He couldn’t let her get the better of him.
Getting up, he decided to put his work on hold and take a cold shower, it was the faster and more effective way to ease his tension.
Stepping out of his study connected to his bedroom, Gadreel began to strip his dress, piece by piece. By the time he arrived at the bathroom door, he was only but left in his boxers.
He pushed the door open and walked in, ready to turn the water on and wash away his
frustration. But the moment his eyes landed on the figure inside, Gadreel froze.
Standing underneath the shower with nothing but soap bubbles covering her body, was Ivory Her hair was wet and her skin glistened from the water and foam.
She looked beautiful and the way the water trickled down her body, it was…..
“What the hell is wrong with you?” Ivory, having noticed his presence, snapped, bringing Gadreel back to reality.
She glared at him, clearly not happy with his presence and even more displeased with the fact that he was still standing in the room, watching her.
Gadreel frowned and his expression darkened.
“Don’t you have the fucking decency to knock?”
“How was I supposed to know you were in here?” Gadreel fires back and shook his head.
Whatever.”
He turned to leave, but paused when Ivory began talking.
“I guess being a damn pervert comes with the perks of being an asshole,” She muttered and rolled her eyes. “Why am I fucking surprised. Just leave.”
Her words, although spoken, had the opposite effect. Instead of making him want to leave, they angered him even further.
He clenched his jaw and spun around, walking towards her, until he stood a few inches from
the shower cubicle.
“Pervert? Have you fucking forgotten that I’m your husband?” He questioned, eyes narrowed.
“I’ve not forgotten,” Came her response and the mocking tone was clear in her voice. “But it seems to m
me like you’ve forgotten the fact that we’re getting a divorce tomorrow. So, in that case, we’re nothing more than strangers.”
Gadreel growled and glared at her.
“What, is the truth hard to swallow?” She cocked her head and smirked. “Or is it because of the fact that you’re not the only man on my radar? Come down your high horse, Gadreel, it’s
not like you’re some God and definitely not the only man I look at.”
目
At those words, a dark, twisted, possessive side of him awakened and Gadreel felt his blood
boil.
His jaw clenched, his fists curled into a tight ball and his eyes were fixed on her.
eyes
Ivory could see it all, from the way his shoulders tensed, to the dark look in his and the way his fists trembled.
She felt fear, but held his gaze and kept her composure.
“Are you going to leave or not?”
No words were uttered from his end. Rather, his actions spoke louder.
He yanked the shower door open, causing Ivory to stumble back. Her heart thumped, her mind screamed for her to run, but her legs refused to budge.
And then, Gadreel stepped in and slammed the door shut behind him. His eyes, which were already dark, seemed even darker and more intimidating as they gazed down at her.
“I’ll leave alright, but first,” He suddenly reaches forward and grabs her arm, causing her to wince. “I think it’s high time I take what I deserve as your husband.”
Before Ivory could respond, his lips claimed hers,
