Chapter 24
Ivory, although she didn’t look like it, was nervous. Sure, she wasn’t a Mary Sue, but that didn’t mean she wasn’t a fucking Virgin!
And this was a sure reaction from every and any Virgin or non virgin at that, who happens to see a half naked Gadreel.
His abs, chest and that V–line, wore all like a death trap!
A tempting death trap!
Sure, she had seen them a couple of times while cleaning his body when he was in a coma, but now…now, it was clear that those gym sessions after waking up weren’t for show.
They had given him an even more defined and well toned body than the one he had before..
A body that she was sure did not belong to a man who didn’t know how to please a lady in bed, much to the dismay of her prior judgement.
Ivory frowned and dismissed her thoughts before they roamed too much.
She didn’t need those type of thoughts in her mind right now, rather, she was in need of blowing of some serious steam.
Reaching for her phone, she texted Emma, letting her know that they should meet at Emphire, a racing track.
After the message was delivered, Ivory ordered her ride and then while waiting, instructed one of the maids to prepare something for Gabriella.
When everything was settled and her ride had arrived, she stepped out. A little while later, she arrived at the racing track and was met by the entrance by Emma.
“Hey,” They greeted and hugged.
“I thought you wanted to meet your bachelors, what changed?” Emma asked as they walked. into the racing rink. She swiped her members only pass, granting them access in.
“I just…wanted to be here.” Came Ivory’s answer as she selected a car and track.
“Wanted to be here?” Emma peaked over her shoulder and raised a brow. “Hey, you do know that’s the tracks hardest course, right?”
Ivory shrugged.
“What are you planning, Ivy? Why are you doing this?”
“I want to blow off some steam. Is that too much to ask?“.
Emma sighed and shook her head.
“Alright, I’ll let you handle this, but, I’ll be your navigator.”
Ivory, without hesitation, nodded her head. After that, the two made their way in.
Emma got into the passenger seat, while Ivory in the driver’s seat. She pulled up to the
starting line and waited for the starting shot.
When it went off, she punched the accelerator. The car jerked forward, causing Ivory to hold the steering wheel tightly.
The speed was Incredible. Her heart beat accelerated as she maneuvered the track.
“Turn left and get ready to drift, there’s a sharp turn ahead.” Emma’s advised, guiding Ivory as she sped.
Her eyes narrowed, her grip on the wheel tightened, then, the sharp turn approached and Ivory drifted.
The tires screeched and her body leaned against the seat. When the car straightened, her heart
raced.
The adrenaline, it was incredible and she’d be a damn liar if she said she didn’t miss this type
of thing
The speed, the thrill, the feel, she had missed them all so damn much, coupled with the pent up frustration she wanted to vent out, it was the perfect combo and Ivory did not hesitate to
sped.
Besides her, Emma stole a glance at her.
She could tell, from how her best friend was speeding, that there was a lot going on inside her
head.
The sharp turns, the drifting, the high speed, she was using all of that to blow off steam, and although Emma wanted to interrupt and warn her to slow down, she allowed Ivory to go at it.
Because unlike many, Emma knew all the suffering Ivory had been through. Her cold bastard. littered family who didn’t deserve her and then the shit she had been through with Gadreel.
All those were enough to drive a person mad with the emotional pain. But that wasn’t Ivory. She was different and this was her way of letting off steam.
Of moving on.
A small smile cracked Emma’s lips.
“Good for you, Ivy.” She muttered as they pulled to a stop.
“That was…well needed.” Ivory said and chuckled, Emma didn’t hesitate to tag along.
Beside them, a car pulled up, drawing Emma’s attention. She watched as the door opened and
the driver stepped out.
He walked towards their car and bent down, tapping the window three times with his finger.
Ivory’s
s furrowed and she rolled the window down. The driver, seeing this as an opportunity, took the chance and took of his helmet.
The moment Emma saw who it was, her eyes widened. The driver glanced at her only briefly, before turning his attention to Ivory without even acknowledging her.
“Great skills on the track.” He began, leaning against the car and eyeing Ivory. “Think you can put them to use against me?”
“You challenging me?” Ivory asked with a bored expression.
“I am in fact. Three races, three courses. If I win, then you’ll have dinner with me and if you win,” his gaze swept over her body, a smirk forming on his lips. “I’ll let you do whatever you want with me, no limitations.”
Ivory raised an eyebrow and eyed the driver. His features, his physique, he was quite the catch.
He seemed to know it too, from the way he held himself and the confidence he was inE-
“Is that a deal or not?”
“It’s a deal.” Ivory accepted and the driver grinned and stepped back.
“I’ll look forward to our dinner date, then.” He said and got back in his car.
Ivory kept her eyes on him, even after he had gotten into his car. Only did she look away when Emma tapped her.
“You don’t have you,” She started, looking hesitant. “Can you not.”
Ivory chuckled. She knew how much Emma worried about her.
“It’s been fine,” she reassure, ruffling her hair. “Besides, I’d love to kick some arrogant.
bastard’s butt.”
