The following day, Ivory was awoken by the sound of her phone ringing. She groaned in protest as she wanted nothing more than to go back to sleep.
Her phone, or rather, the caller, had other plans for her as the phone kept ringing. Frustrated and angered at the same time, Ivory finally answered the phone.
“Yes-”
“This very instant, come home.” The voice that sounded from the other end belonged to her
father.
Pulling the phone away from her ear, she confirmed this and with a hiss, loud enough for Lionel to hear, she ended the call and placed her phone on the night stand, attempting to go back to sleep.
However, the phone rang a few more times, totally disrupting that mission of hers. Finally at her wits end, Ivory
Ook her phone and powered it off, granting both herself and her bedroom,
temporary peace.
Yeah, she thought, sinking comfortably back into her bed, this was it.
The much needed sleep that she deserved. Who was her father to call and demand she come home after what he had done?

“Ivy, it’s me, I’m coming in.” Emma called out before opening the door and stepping in. Sorry to disturb,” She truly looked those words as she held her phone up. “But your kinda being a pain in my ass. They won’t stop calling my line.”
All at once, Ivory sat up. “What?”
“Your father, he keeps calling.” Right on queue, the screen of her phone brightened with another call from Lionel. “See.”
Ivory watched as the phone rang before scoffing.

That motherfucker was crossing the line. Running her morning…afternoon sleep- Ivory quickly corrected herself as she caught sight of the time on Emma’s phone was one thing she
could manage to tolerate.
But calling Emma, that was a whole other bullshit, one she needed to put a stop to this very moment. She didn’t want to know how they got Emma’s number, all she wanted was for them not to ever drag Emma into her bullshit.
And she knew just how to stop that.
Begrudgingly getting out of bed, she began getting dressed. “I apologize Em, I’ll get them to stop, don’t worry.”
Emma nodded. “Sure,” As she turned to leave, she paused. “Ah, before I forget, your friend yesterday, the handsome one,” She wriggled her brows. “He said I should remind you to take the second bottle as soon as you’ve has your meal”
She was completely surprised that Camilla had actually found two men for her. If it hadn’t been for Lucien arriving again, she would have ended up having a threesome with the hunks.
She touched the painful place on her lips, and Gadriel actually bit her. She found that she didn’t reject it, and she hated that her heart still hadn’t changed. Her body still felt hot, not from the drug, but rather from the places he had touched.
“Thanks. I’ll be back soon.”
With that, she walked out of their place and journeyed towards the place she once called her family house, ready to fight her father at that moment.
However, the moment she stepped in, a glass cup came flying for her. She dodged in time and it shattered on the door. Thankfully, none of the shards dented her.

Selfish? Ivory was dumbfounded. Although she really didn’t expect him to apologize, she didn’t expect him to be so shameless either.
How dare he call her shameless? She has done so much for this family! Yet, the one time she decides to protect herself, to not become a scapegoat for someone who didn’t deserve her sacrifice, she was branded selfish.
Ivory’s jaws clenched and her eyes darkened.
“Do you know what your actions has caused?” Her father continued.
“My actions?” She tilted her head. “You offer me, your very own daughter, up as a sacrifice for the daughter of your mistress, what type of father would do that?” She retorted.
Lionel’s eyes widened. “What?”
You expect me to become a sacrifice for someone who doesn’t deserve it? Evangeline, that bitch, doesn’t deserve shit from me and I don’t care of my actions leads to her being six feet under.”

Lionel turned red in seconds. “You insolent bitch!” He stood up and picked the Cane he had brought out in case something like this happened, and rushed at Ivory
The moment he held the cane on in the air, Ivory couldn’t help but flinch and close her eyes
The very next second, the sound of the cane hitting skin resonated through the entire living
room.
But Ivory felt no pain.
Peaking her eyes open, she saw a hand holding the cane and turned around to see Gadreel.
Her heart thumped with surprise for a few seconds and her expression softened. But the minute she recalled how Gadreel had abandoned her in the hotel, the thumping in her chest ceased and her expression hardened again.
“No matter what she’s done, don’t you think hitting her is going a little too far?”
“She deserves this! She had one job, a simple dinner with one innocent man, yet she messed it up and offended the physician in charge of Evangeline’s surgery!”
Having dinner with Peter Mendez? Gadreel frowned at this.
Was that what she was doing at that bar? Then, had she been drugged by Peter?

His gaze scanned Lionel’s face and a realization dawned on him.
the drugging had been done by Lionel himself.
He yanked the cane out of Lionel’s hand in one swift movement and threw it on the floor, surprising him.
“Sir,” his voice was more stern. “I understand your anger, but worry not, no matter what happens, I will take full responsibility of Evangeline’s surgery and make sure it goes well. So, please don’t ever involve an outsider in a matter concerning the family.”
Ivory flinched.
An outsider, she was indeed considered that. Well then, since matters of the family wasn’t meant to involve her, then she might just as well take her leave.
Turning, she began heading towards the door, but suddenly, Evangeline showed up, blocking her way.
“Ivy,” She called out weakly. “Are you angry? I get if you are, after all, Gadreel had chosen me over you, his very own wife,” She said those words so innocently that an outsider wouldn’t have seen anything wrong with it.
