CHAPTER 57
LEVI’S POV
Today, I learned that Aria has gone to Wellington Enterprises for a contract. The office has been eerily silent ever since I threatened to fire any staff member unwilling to work on this project. Both Suzanne and I have noticed a significant drop in the support and respect we used to command in the office.
Aria’s arrival has drastically altered the atmosphere. Neal’s mistress is relentlessly pushing her way into Jackson Paragon, and it feels like we’re all on the brink of losing our jobs. The tension is palpable, and the uncertainty about the future has everyone on
edge.
Initially, when Aria mentioned Wellington, I assumed she was bluffing. Confident in my belief, I instigated the team to opt out of joining her project. I wanted to wait for Neal’s return, hoping he would take charge and exclude her from the project.
However, I was taken aback when Neal entrusted her with the authority to manage office tasks in his absence. It was always me who took charge whenever Neal was away on business trips, and this unexpected shift in power left me both surprised and
unsettled.
A mistress coming in and taking over the office in just two days was totally unacceptable. The swiftness and ease with which Aria asserted her authority left me reeling. It felt like a direct challenge to my position and the established order, creating a sense of upheaval and resentment among those of us who had been loyal to Neal for so long.
When Aria returned to the office from her meeting with Clark Wellington, proudly displaying the signed agreement, we were áll baffled. How did she manage to achieve this on such short notice? For years, we had been trying to forge a connection with Clark, but we could never get through. Her swift success left us all in a state of disbelief and unease, highlighting her unexpected competence and determination.
I realized I needed to take immediate action against this girl. Her swift ascent and unexpected competence posed a direct threat to my position and the established order in the office. It was clear that if I didn’t act now, things would only get worse.
Unable to disturb Neal on his business trip, I decide to call Dave Wilson. This was a closely guarded secret by Neal Jackson, who had refused to acknowledge his father’s name, determined to build his own empire through his own efforts.
I had known Neal since he was young and had supported him every step of the way. Reaching out to Dave Wilson, someone with the power and influence to address the situation, felt like the best course of action to restore order and protect Neal’s vision for
the company
Dave
picks up my call, and after exchanging the usual formal greetings, I cut straight to the point.
I explain to him how Neal is being influenced by the new girl in his life and express my concern about the potential negative
impact this could have on the company.
But to my shock, Dave does not care.

“Ali, Levi. It’s Neal’s company. Who am I to interfere?”
Really? Is he kidding me? Or this girl has bewitched both father and son.
“Well, it was duty to inform you.”
I tread carefully, aware that saying too much could backfire. Dave Wilson’s temper is notorious, and if he becomes angry, the consequences for me could be dire. After dedicating so many years to this company, I can’t afford to lose everything in one fell
My career, reputation, and future all hang in the balance. The stakes are high, and one wrong move could undo everything I’ve worked for. So, I choose my words with caution, expressing my concerns without overstepping, hoping Dave understands the gravity of the situation without taking it out on me.
After exchanging a few more perfunctory words, we disconnect. But inwardly, I’m seething with fury. The frustration of not being able to fully convey my concerns eats away at me, leaving me feeling powerless and infuriated.
It’s a potent mix of anger and helplessness, fueling my determination to find a solution to the situation plaguing the company.
Then I decide to give a call to Suzanne.
“I I swear, Suzannel We need to get rid of this girl!”
Suzanne agrees with me and she reassures me that she has some tricks up her sleeves.
“I’ve got a plan to make her pay for the humiliation she’s caused us!”
Her tone tinged with resolve, gives me hope.
