Seeing my confusion, Bianca gave me a composed smile. “I know he treats me well, but I’ve heard some things about how he
handles relationships. I feel sorry for that girl, and I despise people who treat girls as a pastime. He loves me but is with someone
else, and that kind of love is too cheap.”
I was taken aback by how rational Bianca was. If only I had been this clear–headed earlier, I wouldn’t have gotten hurt.
“A few days ago, Elliot told me your dad arranged a blind date for you?”
Bianca nodded. “Yeah, we met once, and it felt okay. We could give it a shot.”
I couldn’t help but laugh bitterly inside. Nathan thought he had given Bianca all his love, but it turned out she was not even
interested.
I suddenly felt frustrated. He never gave me even a tenth of what he gave to Bianca, yet I took the little bit he gave me as
everything.
What a joke.
After we went downstairs, the birthday party officially started. Bianca stood in front of the cake, and this time, instead of making
a wish, she announced big news.
“I’m in a
relationship!”
