“Well, you’re eight years older than me. It’s a bit much, but it’s still okay.”
After I said that, I could clearly feel the air in the car become much more tense. I wasn’t sure if I had offended him, which
reminded me of something Lucas had said.
I didn’t really understand Elliot. Would he just throw me out of the car for saying something like that?
Thinking of that possibility, I gripped the car’s armrest nervously. He saw my movement, sighed softly, shot me a glance full of resentment, and didn’t say another word.
When we arrived home, Lucas’s eyes went wide when he saw Elliot had dropped me off.
“Sienna fell into the water, so I took her to the hospital. She’s fine, and just has to watch out for a cold.”

After saying that, he didn’t linger and left.
I took a shower and crawled into bed. Lucas immediately ran over to interrogate me, “Sienna, how did you end up meeting
Elliot?”
I told him what happened, and a look of emotion crossed his face, one I couldn’t quite understand.
“What are you thinking?”
Lucas stared at me seriously. “Sienna, Elliot likes you.”
I was shocked. “How is that possible?”
“Why not?”
Lucas began his analysis. “Look, Nathan could’ve saved you first, but he got distracted by Bianca. Elliot’s Bianca’s real brother, so why wasn’t he distracted?”
After that, he patted my head. “My silly little sister, you’re about to fall in love!”
I turned bright red from what he said, burying my head in the blanket. “Stop saying nonsense.”
Lucas’s voice suddenly became serious. “Elliot is very calculating, but if he really likes you, he could be a good choice. With him protecting you, no one would dare bully you.‘

After he left, I thought carefully about all of Elliot’s unusual actions toward me. Although I hadn’t fully healed from Nathan’s burt, I thought if it were someone like Elliot, maybe it could be different.
