“Can you stop following me? Do you enjoy this, or do you think if things don’t work out with Bianca, you can just keep me as a backup?”
It seemed like I had hit a nerve. Nathan’s face turned red, but he still tried to justify himself. Regardless, I didn’t want to listen
anymore.
“We’re done. Don’t bring this up again.”
I quickened my pace, and he tried to grab me, but I was walking too fast and ended up falling into the water by the lakeside.
“Watch out!”
Nathan reached out to grab me, but just then, Blanca shouted, “Ah! Nathan!”
He immediately withdrew his hand, looking anxiously at Blanca. “What’s wrong?”
Bianca, smiling, waved the fishing rod in her hand. “Look! A huge fish! Oh no, Sienna’s fallen into the river!”

As Nathan withdrew his hand, I lay back in the water, sinking deeper.
At that moment, a strong hand pulled me by the arm. “Sienna, don’t be frightened!”
I didn’t see who it was, but my survival instinct kicked in, and I tightly grasped the person’s arm with my other hand.
Only after getting onto the shore did I realize the person who pulled me from the water was Elliot. He had also stepped into the
water, so his pants were soaked, and he had water droplets on his hair.
Despite seeing me in such a messy state, he didn’t care about the dirt on me and directly picked me up in his arms.
“Elliot, why are you here? Is Sienna okay?” Bianca asked, looking pale and shaken.
“I’m taking her to the hospital. You two continue,” Elliot said, turning to leave.
Nathan called after him, “Elliot, we’ll take her to the hospital.”
Elliot didn’t turn back. His voice was cold and harsh. “Since you’ve already let go, don’t think you’ll get another chance to hold
on.”
