Chapter 7
The next morning, I woke up early. I felt suffocated at home, so I decided to take a walk by the nearby lake.
To my surprise, as soon as I reached the lakeside, I saw Nathan and Bianca happily fishing together.
When Bianca saw me, she waved and called out, “Sienna, what are you doing here? Come and fish with me!”
Upon seeing me, Nathan immediately averted his gaze without greeting me.
Bianca pulled me over to the lakeside, and I stood there, watching her and Nathan chatting and laughing with each other.
This was the first time I had seen Nathan smile so happily–a smile I had never received when we were together. The feeling of heartache gradually faded, but there was still a bitterness creeping up my throat.
While Bianca was fishing, Nathan moved closer to me and whispered in a low voice, “Sienna, why do this to yourself? I know you love me, but doesn’t this make you sad?”
“I think you’ve misunderstood.”
“Misunderstood what? I thought we had already made things clear. I hope you keep your word and don’t tell Bianca…”
“Nathan.” I interrupted him, “You’re so self–centered. I didn’t come here looking for you. I just wanted to take a walk. You’re not as important to me as you think.”
Nathan’s expression instantly darkened. “Do you think I’ll believe you just because you say that? I know how much you love me.”
“Really?” I sneered, “So, you’re taking advantage of my love for you, trampling on it so carelessly, aren’t you?”
The more I thought about it, the angrier I became. I turned to leave, but Nathan followed me and grabbed my wrist. “Sienna, you…”
