Three years later, I completed my studies and returned home to participate in a design competition.
Coincidentally, the event was being held in Cloudflare. The moment I stepped onto the familiar ground, I felt an overwhelming
sense of disconnection, as if I had returned to an entirely different world.
I thought I’d never see Jasper again in this lifetime.
But fate had other plans. Our reunion came sooner than I ever expected.
He was a special guest at the competition.
As I stood on stage introducing my work, I felt his intense gaze from the audience like a dagger on my back.
When the competition finally ended, I tried to slip away unnoticed. But before I could, a hand grabbed me and pulled me into the
stairwell.
The next moment, a shadow loomed over me.
Jasper braced his hands on the wall, trapping me between him and the cold concrete.
His eyes were rimmed with red, his jaw trembling. His hoarse voice broke the silence.
“Selena, you finally came back? Three years. I’ve been looking for you for three whole years. Are you really that heartless? For three years, you didn’t contact me once. Do you know how much I’ve missed you?”
As he spoke, his head dropped to my neck, and I felt him trembling as quiet sobs escaped.
“Selena, I swear, I’ve learned from my mistakes. I’ve waited three years… it’s been far too long.”
His arms wrapped tightly around my waist as if he were terrified I might slip away.
Seeing him like this brought my thoughts back to three years ago when Molly had stormed into my life.
