Jasper stared at her, the exaggerated performance making a wave of disgust rise in his chest

How had he ever thought Molly was anything like Selena? They were nothing alike, not even close

Selena was genuine and pure, the kind of woman who would never stoop to something as vile as drugging him. She was like the

moon in the skydistant, radiant, and untouchable. Molly, on the other hand, was nothing more than dirt beneath his feet

The last shred of illusion Jasper had about Molly shattered completely

Mr. Brook, you have to believe me,Molly pleaded with tears streaming down her face. I swear, I didn’t go to her.”

Before she could say more, Jasper’s face darkened, and with a sharp motion, he slapped her hard across the face

Liar. How dare you try to fool me? Do you think I’m blind, that I can’t see what you’ve been doing? You provoked Selena, and

you still dare to covet the title of Mrs. Brook

Let me tell you something: the only woman who will ever hold that title is Selena. She’s the only one worthy of being my wife

You’re nothing but trasha cheap woman selling yourself. What right do you have to act superior

Give Selena back to me. Give her back!”

Jasper’s eyes burned red with fury as he kicked Molly to the ground, his entire body trembling with rage. His eyes brimmed with hatred as he looked at her

If Molly hadn’t been so brazen and gone out of her way to provoke Selena, she never would have discovered the truth, never would have ended up in the emergency room in tears, and never would have walked away in despair

It was all Molly’s faultthis vile woman was to blame

Molly’s screams filled the room as Jasper struck her mercilessly with every blow

She sobbed and begged for mercy, Mr. Brook, please stop! Don’t! I’m carrying your child. Please, don’t hit me anymore!”

His child

Hearing those words only fueled Jasper’s fury

He pressed his foot against Molly’s swollen stomach, his teeth clenched in rage. My child? You think you’re worthy of bearing

my child? That bastard should have never existed!”

With those words, he stomped down hard. Blood soon filled the room with a metallic stench

Molly’s face turned deathly pale, her body drenched in sweat as a harrowing scream tore through the air

Hearing the commotion, people rushed in to find her collapsed in a pool of blood, her body bruised and battered beyond

recognition

Jasper stormed into the control room, forcing the captain to turn the ship around

The cruise ship sped back toward the shore at its fastest pace

Jasper thought to himself, Maybe Selena is just upset and went home. She wouldn’t truly leave me. We have been together for

twenty years. She can’t live without me.”

When Jasper arrived home and saw that everything seemed untouched, he finally let out a breath of relief

The room looked the same; nothing seemed missing. It appeared Selena hadn’t left after all

But when he opened the closet and saw it halfemptyher usual belongings gonethe panic returned, gripping him like a vice

His eyes landed on the wall. The wedding photo that should have shown two people now only displayed him

Jasper collapsed to the floor, his last thread of hope snapping

Any sliver of hope he’d held onto on the cruise ship was now utterly destroyed

Selena had truly left him
