I tried to walk past him. “You don’t need to tell me all this.”
He blocked my path yet again, though. “Of course I do. Gina, I can’t just wait around for you to remember anymore. I need to tell you the truth. Your boyfriend is actually-”
“Eric Cobb!” I cut him off sharply, “You’re being ridiculous. Who you break up with or date is your business. It has nothing to do
with me. I’m Jonah’s girlfriend, and I-”
“No, you’re not!” he roared, stepping even closer. “Jonah stole you from me! He’s had his eye on you for a long time. This is all his doing!”

“What are you even talking about? I really don’t understand. Please leave me alone.” I backed away, trying to figure out how to
escape when I saw Jonah’s car approaching.
“Jonah!” I ran over, clinging to him as if I were scared.
He held me tightly, asking, “Eric, what do you think you’re doing?”
Eric stepped forward, his fists clenched and his face dark with fury. “Jonah, if you got the guts, tell Gina right now.”
“Tell her what?” Jona’s expression turned cold, almost intimidating. “Eric, do you really think acting like this will get you what
you want? You made the choices, so you only have yourself to blame.
“The more you harass Gina, the more she’ll avoid you. And I’ll make sure you never get near her again. Our friendship ends here.”
Jonah’s voice was low, filled with warning.

Eric froze. He didn’t step forward or say another word. He knew what Jonah was implying that if I found out the truth, I’d react
badly. If he kept pushing, Jonah would make sure he never saw me again.
Jonah led me to his car, and Eric didn’t follow.
As Jonah drove, I turned to look at him, feeling even more puzzled. It was as if he knew exactly what I was thinking, always acting
in line with my expectations. But how was that possible? After all, I had lost my memory.
