“Quentin, I’m fine. Don’t blame Natalie. She just acted impulsively. She didn’t mean to cut me with the shards.”
Quentin’s eyes burned with fury as he turned to me. “Natalie, have you really become this vicious?! Get on your knees and
apologize!”
I rolled my eyes. “It wasn’t me.”
Olivia sobbed pitifully, “I know Natalie is still mad at me. Quentin, if she says it wasn’t her, then let’s believe her, okay?”
“You’re still lying! If it wasn’t you, then who else? There are only three of us in this house! Do you really think I’d be stupid enough to believe Olivia hurt herself?!”
Hearing that, I sneered and stepped forward, slapping Olivia across the face. Rubbing my wrist, I said, “Well, since you already think I did it, I might as well make it true.”
Quentin snapped out of his shock and grabbed my wrist. “How dare you hit her?!”
I tried to shake him off, but against his gym–trained strength, my efforts were useless. “Get lost! Let go of me!”

He shoved me to the ground, his grip tightening around my wrist as he pressed my hand into the remaining shards. The sharp fragments embedded into my palm, drawing tiny beads of blood.
“An eye for an eye! I’ll hurt you the same way you hurt her!”
With that, he lifted Olivia into his arms, soothing her as he promised to take her to the hospital. Before leaving, he paused at the
door and looked down at me.
“Natalie, reflect on your actions and return to the kind person you once were. A year from now, I expect you to have changed.”
I lifted my head, and the last thing I saw was Olivia’s triumphant smirk.
Outside, Ryan’s family driver watched Quentin rush out carrying Olivia. Sensing something was wrong, he ran inside and found
me injured, his face full of panic.
“Madam, I came too late.”
I stared coldly at my wounds. “This isn’t your fault. The person responsible should bear the consequences.”
Ryan was still abroad working on a project. He had wanted to delay his return to accompany me, but I didn’t want to trouble him and insisted on handling things myself. So, he arranged for the family driver to take me instead.
I never expected Quentin to be this insane.
