Chapter 131
Mandy looked up and quickly gathered the rings on her vanity. Before she could finish putting them away, an urgent voice rang out from the hallway
“Mom, something huge just happened” Seline’s panicked voice cut through the silence.
Mandy let out a relieved breath when she recognized it was her daughter. She placed the jewelry box back on the vanity and walked to the door. “Alright, I’m coming.”
What on earth was Seline freaking out about now?
She opened the door and immediately scolded her, “You need to learn to keep your composure. If you want to marry into the Lambert family, you can’t afford to be so reckless.”
At home, she could get away with acting spoded, but the Lambert family wasn’t so forgiving. Their rules were strict, and their patience was thin..
But Seline wasn’t listening. She grabbed Mandy’s arm, dragged her inside, and slammed the door shut behind them.
“II’s about Jane,” she blurted out.
Mandy’s expression darkened instantly. “What happened?”
If this was about Jane and had Seline in such a panic, then it had to be serious
She pulled Seline toward the plush black velvet couch and sat her down. Seline’s hands were clenched into fists, her voice shaking with anger. “It’s her. It’s that bitch, Suzanne She’s Jane.”
She stared at Seline, needing continuation. “Are you sure?
“Yes!” Seline nearly screamed.
Mandy’s jaw tightened. So, that was why the maids they planted in the Alvarez residence had been replaced. It wasn’t a coincidence–it was a calculated move.
Damn it! She should’ve seen this coming
If they had known earlier, they could have controlled the situation. Now, they were completely on the defensive
Seline recounted everything Jenson had said over the phone, her expression growing darker with every word. By the time she was done, both women sat in heavy silence, their expressions stormy
Mandy’s gaze turned cold, deadly. She stood and turned to Seline. “Looks like we need to adjust our plan.”
Seline nodded trantically. “Exactly! she’s Jane, then she knows. What are we supposed to do now? She’s never going to cooperate with us!”
She clenched her fists and slammed them against the couch in frustration. “Mom, if she refuses, then that means I have to marry into the Lambert family-
“Calm down.” Mandy’s voice was sharp, her expression ley. “Haven’t I taught you better? Losing your head won’t fix anything.”
“Enough” Mandy’s voice dropped lower, laced with something dark. “So what if she’s a miracle doctor? She’s still human. And humanis can be outmaneuvered.” Seline’s eyes Et up. “You have a plan?
Mandy curled her fingers, gesturing her closer. Seline immediately leaned in. As Mandy whispered in her ear, Seline’s expression shifted from panic to excitement. By the time Mandy was done, Seline was practically buzzing
Pure, Venomous hatred filled both their eyes
Itthar bich really was Jane, then she needed to die.
Nothing and no one–was going to stop Seline from marrying into the Lambert fually.
That evening of Starview Villa, Suzanne had just stepped through the front door when she noticed a tall tipiesatting on the couch with his legs crossed. She paused for a second, surprised
After setting down her things, she changed her shoes and walked in. She then looked at Austin with a curious expression, saying, “You’re home early tonight.” Austin usually had business dinners or late meetings. He never got back before 9:00 pm or 10:00 pm. But it was barely past 6:00 pm. For him, this was early Austin lifted his gaze to look at her. His expression was unreadable, his eyes cold. He didn’t say a word. Instead, he stood and walked straight to the dining room. Suzanne blinked. Something was definitely off about hän tonight.
Still, she didn’t push. She simply followed him into the dining room, washed her hands, and sat down for dinner. The entire meal was eaten in silence. When he was done, Austin got up, left the table, and disappeared into his study. The entire villa felt like it had been plunged into an eerie stillness.
Suzanne finally set her cutlery down. She was certain of one thing–Austin wasn’t in a good mood
Adler Autin left, Suzanne turned her gaze to Bita, who had just walked out of the kitchen, and asked, “itita, did something happen today?=
Rit looked just as confused as she felt, she shook her head. “Not that I know of. Why? Did something happeni
She had been busy in the kitchen the whole time and had just finished her chores.
“Km not sure,” Suzanne admitted with a small smile. “just curious.”
Rita gave a small nod, still looking a little puzzled. She had a tissue in her hand, which she used to wipe her hands dry. She watched as Suzanne turned and headed upstairs.
