Chapter 10
Andera’s pov
I walk slowly into the building, ignoring the trepidation crawling in my stomach. The talk with Rosa left me somewhat drained
emotionally, it was like reopening an old wound.
The meeting is going to be quick and short, that’s a relief. I don’t know how I would have made it an hour or two alone with Thane
without loosing my wits.
A sigh leaves my lips.
“Breathe in Andera. You can’t flare up, you can not mess this up. you would get what you want soon enough. “I muttered.
Stepping into the meeting room, I’m greeted by the scent of Thane’s signature cologne. My eyes shut close impulsively as I drink
in that all too familiar scent. The scent of sandalwood, of Thane.
Memories start rushing into my mind, and my face heats up, memories I had long buried. I forced the unwanted thoughts away.
When I open my eyes, Thane is watching me intently, his brooding gray eyes scanning over me, slowly, from my legs up to my
face.
I shudder involuntarily.
‘When his gaze meets mine, he inhales sharply and adjusts his tie.
“Please sit down. Ms Campbell. ” Aside from the subtle twitch in his jaw, his chiseled features remained stoic.
“Good day, Mr Renihardt. ”
I force a smile, trying to focus on how quickly we can finish out discussion on the merger details so I’d know where and when to
strike Thane, and also because I feel very uncomfortable right now.
This is all because of what I told Rosa a few minutes ago.
He leaned back into his seat. Tracing his lower lip with his thumb, I tore my eyes away, quickly.
“About the message the other day….
“What are your thoughts on the integration plan, Mr Renihardt?”
I immediately changed the topic from where he was headed.
The corner of his eyes
crinkled.
“Well, Andera, I think we need to move quickly to integrate our operations. We can’t afford to have redundant systems and
processes in place for too long.” He responded matter of factly
“Ms Campbell. “I corrected him

“Isn’t your name Andera?” He asked with fake surprise, a ghost of a smirk hovering over his lips.
“Protocols demand business partners address each other formally, just in case you’ve forgotten. “I sneer
He remained impassive, watching me while he kept on stroking his bottom lip.
I should order him to stop doing that. It’s….it’s..distracting.
When it was obvious he wasn’t going to give me a reply, I continued.
“Your thoughts, Mr Renihardt, on our integration process.

“You want to know what my thoughts are, Andera,?”

His voice dropped to a low, ragged tone.
“I’ve been thinking about that text you sent me.”
Thane’s gray eyes turned a shade darker. He leaned forward.
My pulse raced.
“I’d rather not discuss that.” Thane was undeterred.
“Oh, come on, Andera. You can’t just send me a text like that and expect me to ignore it.”
“Excuse me?” I drew my head back in shock.
My anger accelerated, he was the one who started the whole nonsense and he’s saying it like I am to be blamed?
Thane laughed, his eyes glinting with amusement.
Honestly, I was angry and stunned when you blocked me, but replying to my text with the same energy? You got balls, Andera. How come I never saw this side of you? You’re sure very interesting now”
What the actual…?
I stood up, my chair scraping against the floor.
“That’s it. I’ve had enough. I’m out of here. When you are ready for the meeting, you can come to my company instead. ”
I snatched my purse from the Mahogany desk and turned in my heels.
Thane stood up, He walked towards me, with long strides eating up the distance between us, he caught my wrist, his fingers closing around it like a vice.
In the twinkle of an eye, he pulled me towards him, slamming me into his hard chest, our bodies collided.
The impact was so sudden and rough that my breasts flattened into his body.
Thane held me tightly in place, and for a brief moment, we both remained like that, fuming and breathing deeply.

His eyes dropped from my face to my partly opened lips.
Then I came back to my senses. This was Thane, the man I hated. The one I spent five years plotting his ruin.
I pushed him away, but Goddammit, he’s too big and strong; it was like trying to push a bull.
He didn’t react. Instead, he pulled back on his own,
“You don’t get to walk out on me, Andera. ” He growled, his eyes burning with a frightful intensity.

“I can and I will. You have some nerve you know, first you stalk me online, then you send that disdainful text and now you’re
trying to mock me. Let me make this clear to you…”
I took slow calculated steps towards him, my heels clacking on the marble floor. I jabbed my forefinger into his solid chest.
“..I’m not that girl anymore. The Andera you know is gone, and make no mistake, if you as much as say or act disrespectfully
towards me again, It will not end well. ”
He caught my finger in his fist and…..smirked?
He was finding my threats funny?
Blood rushed to my ears, and suddenly, I stepped on his foot with the pencil heel of my shoes.
He kissed his teeth but didn’t move an inch.
Feisty, Andera,” Thane rasped and in one fluid movement, he pinned me against the wall, lowering his head down to mine; I
could feel his ragged breath on my cheeks.
“Let me go this instant or else..” my fingers curled into a fist.
“Or else what?” He challenged. His minty breath mixing with my furious exhales.
“I’ll sue you for harassment. ” I spat
“Keep bluffing Andera ”
I could see amusement in his eyes, but thankfully, he released me from his arm cage.
Thane stood still, rooted on the spot, I could feel his eyes on me as I stormed out.
My mind raced a mile a minute, and so did my heart. I need to speed up my plans before things with Thane goes haywire, and I
need to do it very fast, because I don’t know how much longer I’ll be able to stand him.
