Derek cleared his throat, stepping closer to me with placating hands raised. “Look, Rachel was kicked out of her apartment. Her landlord sold the building without warning, and she had nowhere to go.
“How convenient,” I said flatly.
“She needed somewhere to stay temporarily,” he continued, his explanation sounding rehearsed. “And with you working such long hours, I thought it would be helpful to have her here to help with Oliver. You know, share the burden a bit.”
I laughed, the sound bitter even to my own ears. “Share the burden? That’s what you’re calling this?”
Rachel stepped forward, still supporting Oliver who was watching the scene with wide eyes. “Olivia, I never meant to cause
trouble. I can stay in the guest room if that would make you more comfortable.”
The audacity of this woman suggesting where she should stay in MY house nearly made me lose control.
“I don’t want you comfortable anywhere in my home,” I hissed. “I want you gone.”
Oliver struggled away from Rachel’s support, his face flushed with anger. “You can’t make her leave! This is Dad’s house too!”
I ignored my son’s outburst, pulling my phone from my pocket. “Let me make this very clear. This house is mine. Paid for with
my money. And I want both of you out of it right now.”

Get out of my house
“Olivia, be reasonable,” Derek pleaded. “It’s late, Oliver is injured. Where are we supposed to go?”
“That’s not my problem,” I replied, dialing a number on my phone.
“What are you doing?” Derek asked, his voice rising with alarm.
I held up a finger, signaling him to wait as the call connected. “Hello? Yes, this is Olivia Winters. I need to report intruders in my
home at 457 Moonstone Drive. Yes, I’ll hold.”
Derek’s face darkened with anger. “You’re calling the pack enforcement? Are you insane?”
I lowered the phone slightly. “No, I’m simply protecting what’s mine.”
“You’ve gone too far,” he growled. “Think about what you’re doing! The entire pack will be talking about this tomorrow. You want everyone to laugh at us? To know our private business?”
“I don’t care anymore,” I replied honestly. “My reputation means nothing compared to my dignity.”
Rachel stepped forward, placing a gentle hand on Derek’s arm. Her eyes gleamed with unshed tears – a performance worthy of an
award.
“Derek, it’s okay,” she said softly. “If your sister is this unhappy with my presence, I’ll find somewhere else to stay.”
Sister? The word made my blood boil. This woman was referring to me as Derek’s sister rather than his mate.
“Don’t touch him,” I warned. “And I am not his sister. I am his mate – for now, at least.”
Oliver hobbled forward, placing himself protectively in front of Rachel. His small face was contorted with rage I’d never seen
before.
“You should just cut off your relationship with my dad already!” he shouted. “You’re the one who should leave! Not Rachel!”
His words cut through me like physical blows, but I refused to show it.
Rachel’s face lit up at Oliver’s words. She couldn’t contain the smile that spread across her face.
“Are you really going to cut off the relationship?” she asked, her voice quivering with barely concealed excitement.
Derek shot her a warning look. “No, don’t listen to the child’s nonsense.” He waved his hand dismissively.
“It’s not nonsense!” Oliver screamed, his face reddening. “Dad, kick her out! I hate her!”
I crossed my arms over my chest, a sneer forming on my lips. These people had no idea what was coming.
The sound of vehicles pulling up outside broke the tension. Heavy footsteps approached the front door, followed by authoritative
knocking.
“Pack Enforcement! Open up!”
I walked calmly to the door and pulled it open. Three uniformed enforcers stood on the porch, their expressions serious.

“Dr. Winters,” the lead officer, a burly wolf named Marcus, acknowledged me with a respectful nod. “We received your call about
intruders?”
“Yes,” I replied, stepping aside to let them enter. “These three people have broken into my home. I want them removed
immediately.”
Derek stepped forward, anger radiating from him. “This is ridiculous! I live here. This is my home too!”
Rachel joined him, her mask of innocence firmly back in place. “There must be some misunderstanding, officers. We haven’t
broken in anywhere.”
Oliver, still balancing awkwardly on his good leg, pointed at me accusingly. “This is my father’s house! She’s the one who broke
in! You should arrest her!”
Marcus looked between us, confusion evident on his face. “Sir, ma’am, is this a domestic dispute? Perhaps we should—”
“No,” I interrupted firmly. I reached into my purse and pulled out a folder, extracting the property deed. “This is not a domestic
dispute. This is trespassing.”
I handed Marcus the document. “Open your eyes wide and see clearly whose house this is.”
The officer reviewed the deed carefully, his eyebrows rising slightly. He passed it to his colleagues, who nodded in confirmation.
“This property is registered solely to Olivia Winters,” Marcus stated, turning to face Derek and Rachel. “Sir, if Dr. Winters wants
you to leave, you’ll need to
comply.”
