Sophia must have already told Ethan about my injury, because my fiancé had brought a healer with him.
With just a glance from Ethan, the healer stepped forward and said, “Miss Emma, let me take a look at your arm.”
As the healer unwrapped the herbal bandages, the swollen, angry wound on my arm was exposed. Ethan’s expression darkened,
his eyes filled with both pain and fury.
“An Alpha daring to harm his own Luna – the Wildfire Pack will pay for this,” he said, his voice low and trembling with anger.
I forced a faint smile. “It’s in the past. It doesn’t matter anymore.”
Ethan’s hand gently covered mine, his fingertips carefully avoiding my wound, as though trying to ease my pain.
“If only I had met you sooner,” he murmured, his voice tinged with regret.
“No–I should have taken you away from him the moment I realized I loved you.”
Sophia coughed lightly, teasing, “It’s not too late now, brother.”
Ethan’s gaze locked onto mine, filled with determination.
“Emma, let’s bond.”
I froze, my heart skipping a beat.
“When? I need some time to prepare.”
Ethan smiled softly, his hand gently squeezing mine, his voice steady and strong.
“I’ve already prepared everything. Right now. Tonight.”

“But my arm is still wrapped in herbs. If we bond now, won’t other packs mock you for not respecting the ceremony?”
I remembered a few years ago when Monica planned a family hunt. She had secretly told me she had prepared the Wildfire Pack’s
oldest Moonstone for Luke and me to make our vows under the full moon.
Monica had said that Luke’s father had pledged his love to her before the Moonstone. The wolves howled around them, the
moonlight bathing them in silver. That night, they conceived Luke.
She had hoped that Luke would propose to me the same way, longing to see us give her a grandchild in her lifetime.
But Luke had refused the hunt idea, saying the small cut on my finger meant I couldn’t wear the vow ring. He was worried other
packs would mock him for not taking the ceremony seriously.
“Let’s wait a little longer,” he’d said. “When your hand heals, darling, we’ll take the most beautiful, grand photos together,
holding the marking ceremony.”
Looking back now, I realized it was a blessing in disguise that Luke had made me wait endlessly. It led me to Ethan–the man I
was truly meant to be with.
Ethan’s voice pulled me out of my thoughts.
“No one would dare mock me. I’m bonding with you tonight.”
“Emma, you don’t need to be perfect. Your scars tell your story, and your courage is your glory.”
“I don’t care what others think. I only care about you.”
“Alright,” I whispered, my eyes brimming with tears.
Ethan turned to Sophia, his voice steady.
“Prepare the ceremony. Tonight. Under the full
moon.”
