Chapter 32
“Yes, Mr. Graham,” Nicole replied coolly, deliberately keeping her distance as she passed Travis before climbing
the stairs.
Her high heels clicked against the marble floors, each sound like a hammer striking Travis’s heart, making his chest tighten.
The woman simply brushed past him, no longer holding his hand, clinging to him, or trying to please him like she used to.
The panic rising in Travis felt like a flood breaking through dam, threatening to drown him in an instant. He turned and quickly followed her.
Upstairs in the third–floor closet, Nicole was taking out the dresses William had given her and placing them on the nearby sofa. With her left hand still bandaged, she couldn’t fold the clothes properly and had to pile them together messily.
After carefully checking the closet to make sure she hadn’t missed anything from William, Nicole slowly pulled the sliding door closed.
“Take this evening gown too!” Travis’s angry voice came from behind her.
The closet door was yanked open again, and a hand with prominent knuckles appeared in Nicole’s line of sight. blue evening gown was pulled out and thrown at her face.
Nicole instinctively dodged, causing the hard hanger to strike her injured shoulder.
“Ah!” The pain made her let out an involuntary groan
The thrown gown, which she failed to catch, fell heavily to the floor.
“Nicole, that dress cost a million. You’re just going to leave it on the floor? Pick it up!” Travis’s harsh voice buzzed in her ears.
Enduring the extreme discomfort in her shoulder, Nicole silently picked up the gown and placed it on the sofa.
It was only then that Travis noticed the bandages wrapped around Nic’oles right shoulder. The reddish bloodstains on the white bandages indicated her injury was recent.
Travis frowned. “Hmph, where have you been to get yourself in such a mess? Who are you trying to get sympathy from?”
Nicole didn’t answer his question. Instead, she continued opening the shoe cabinet, placing the expensive pairs
that William had given her into a large shopping bag one by one th
Watching her silently packing from behind, Travis grew increasingly agitated. He strode over and grabbed her arm. “I’m talking to you. Are you deaf?”
As he yanked her injured arm, excruciating pain immediately spread throughout her body, making Nicole suck in a sharp breath.
She looked up at the angry man with bloodshot eyes. “Let go of me. Once I’m done packing, I’ll leave immediately and won’t stay a moment longer.”
-After dealing with her parents today, Nicole was emotionally drained. She’d been on edge all day and really didn’t
have the energy to get into it with him anymore.
“Hmph, you better!” Travis roughly released her arm before turning to sit on the closet sofa, crossing his legs as

he watched her pack.
Her arm throbbed with fresh pain from his yanking and sudden release.
Nicole clutched her arm, her face pale, as she placed all the tems she wanted to take on a single armchair under Travis’s watchful eye..
A passing servant noticed Nicole was injured and stepped in “Young madam, let me take those down for you.”
Travis immediately shot the servant a piercing glare. “Let her do It herself!”
The servant gave Nicole a sympathetic look, noticing the blood seeping through the bandage on her arm, softly, and backed out of the room.
sighed
Nicole didn’t expect anyone here to help her. She took out her phone and her slender fingers quickly typed a few lines on the screen.
“I’m all packed, are you here yet?”
“Just got in. Wait for me.”
“Okay, I’ll wait.”
Just as Travis was sitting arrogantly on the sofa, expecting Nicole to beg him like she used to, the sound of quick, steady footsteps on marble came from outside.
Travis’s eyebrows furrowed slightly. These footsteps were unfamiliar to him–a stranger.
Unease made him rise from the sofa, instinctively turning his head toward the doorway.
