My eyes instantly turned red as I felt the warmth from Cole’s breath at the top of my head.
Nancy suddenly jumped to pull the plug but was pressed down again by the bodyguard Cole brought with him.
Everyone watched as each frame from the footage back then was played.
Ryan and Luke had fallen into the water from fooling around. I called for help, but no one came, so I jumped into the water. I
saved Ryan first as he was nearest. Before my stamina returned, I jumped back into the water to save Luke.
Nancy helped pull up both men dragged back by me while on the cruise. However, she ignored the hand I reached out even though
I was already exhausted.
I was not able to get onto the cruise and fell back into the water like a falling leaf.
“What’s going on? The Sinclair brothers didn’t confirm the facts and just immediately believed Nancy’s words?”
“That’s horrible. If Cole hadn’t brought the old footage here, Paige’s life would’ve been ruined.”
“I saw Nancy step on Paige’s hand on purpose just now. They’re sisters, aren’t they? Why is one so vicious while the other is so
kind?”
My parents had been silent the entire time, but they suddenly stood up to explain. “Nancy was adopted. She’s not our biological
daughter.”
The guests could not help laughing at their flustered demeanor. My parents threw me a pleading look amidst the laughter.
I turned away. I did not want to help them out of this.
Cole smiled. He looked away from below the stage and met my eyes when he lowered his head.
All I remember back then was waking up at the shore. I thought I was saved by a lifeguard. However, it was only now that I found
out Cole was the one who saved me.
My mind turned blank as I looked up at him.
He smiled happily and wiped my tears away with his thumb.
