Chapter 6
The most recent activity was from three years ago–a stock analysis she posted that was featured as a highlighted thread by the forum.
The comments in that thread initially discussed the stock market.
But as she scrolled down further, there were more and more people asking: Where has Madame Lee gone? Is Madame Lee ill? Does anyone know what happened to Madame Lee?
The most recent inquiry was from just yesterday.
Adora suddenly became emotional and tearful.
There were people in this world who still remembered her.
Even after three years, they hadn’t forgotten.
Yet her closest family members couldn’t wait for her to die.
With her emotions running high, she took a deep breath to compose herself for a moment, then updated her status.
“Reborn and returned.”
Comments began appearing almost immediately.
“Holy! Am I seeing things?! Madame Lee is back!”
“Is this really you, Madame Lee? We all thought you had met with an accident and passed away. You disappeared so suddenly!”
“Madame Lee! The true stock guru! Remember when we invested in that IPO together? That stock made us a fortune!”
Adora’s mood brightened as she saw the excitement and joy from these strangers celebrating her return.
When she arrived at the best hospital in the city, she registered for several departments, requesting thorough physical
examinations.
Of course, she also redid the HIV test.
She hadn’t visited a hospital for several years, the place felt somewhat unfamiliar.
She hurried around with a stack of examination forms.
Just as she entered the elevator, she came face–to–face with a familiar face.
Louis was wearing a white coat, his demeanor still cool and detached.
When he saw Adora, surprise flickered briefly in his eyes, but his expression remained impassive.

Adora glanced at him dismissively.
Due to her poor first impression of him, she couldn’t be bothered to greet him.
The hospital was crowded, and someone pushed in behind her, shoving her right into Louis‘ arms.
She frowned deeply and looked up to see the name badge on his white coat.
Louis Walker, Chief Physician.
Adora felt nothing but contempt.
He became a chief physician at such a young age.
Wasn’t that practically medical malpractice waiting to happen?
“I’m sorry,” Adora said coolly as she immediately stepped away from Louis once the person behind her had steadied themselves.
Louis lowered his gaze and spotted the test reports in her hand.
The corner of his lips curled in mockery.
“It seems everyone in the Matthews family suffers from paranoia.”
He told her yesterday that she didn’t have HIV, yet here she was today, getting tested for HIV again.
What a waste of medical resources.
Adora raised an eyebrow at him, understanding his meaning.
She responded with equal coldness, “How do I know you’re not an incompetent doctor? If you misdiagnosed me, who would take responsibility for my unexplained death?”
Yesterday he had just examined her briefly before drawing his conclusion.
Although the result was in her favor, the Matthews family and Eugene was still skeptical–didn’t that prove they didn’t trust his medical skills and judgment?
So, her doubts were perfectly reasonable.
Coming to the hospital today for another examination was simply the prudent thing to do.
Louis’s face darkened. “You’re calling me incompetent?”
What a joke!
From the day he entered medical school, Louis was revered as a medical prodigy!
Over the years, his academic achievements were countless, and not a single patient under his care ever filed a complaint.
How many lives had he pulled back from the brink of death?

After their recovery, they were all deeply grateful to him!
Yet today, this presumptuous woman had the audacity to mock him as incompetent to his face?
Adora noticed his displeasure and thought to herself that with such an unpredictable temperament, his patients would die of fright before they succumbed to their illnesses!
“I can’t say for certain whether you’re incompetent, but it’s a fact that your own nephew doesn’t trust your professional
abilities,” Adora said airily, striking right at his sore spot.
Then, glancing at his badge again, she added, “Don’t think I don’t know how you got that title. I understand the games of the
wealthy.”
After all, she was once the city’s premier socialite, exposed to power games since childhood.
Louis had never encountered such a presumptuous woman before.
Hearing her words, he could only respond with a cold laugh.
“No wonder your family doesn’t believe you. With that attitude, it’s no surprise they can’t tolerate you.
