Shane’s admiration for Stellar deepened as he looked at her.
“Miss Rivers, you’ve truly exceeded my expectations.”
Not only was she beautiful, but she also possessed intelligence, talent, and an unshakable composure when dealing with seasoned veterans. It had been a long time since he’d encountered someone as intriguing as her.
“Since you gave me this opportunity, Mr. Howe, I couldn’t let you down.”
“There’s actually another client we need to visit,” Shane said, his tone thoughtful. “If we can secure a partnership with their company, this project could reach a whole new level. But that client is a tough one. I was ready to give up, but now, with you on board, I think it might just be possible.”
Shane’s gaze lingered on her, his eyes filled with admiration. He was genuinely intrigued by her but confessing that outright might scare her off.
Unaware of his thoughts, Stellar simply felt a bit embarrassed at his praise.
“Mr. Howe, who is it? I can give it a try.”
After all, this was her first major task for the Rivers family, and she was determined to do her best.
Shane nodded, impressed once again by her confidence and drive.
Stellar was strong, self–assured, and clear about her goals. She was exactly as he had come to expect.
He was about to suggest accompanying her, but his phone suddenly buzzed with a notification. After glancing at it, he sighed in
resignation.
“Something urgent’s come up. I won’t be able to go with you,” he said, handing her a folder and an address.
“Mr. Howe, you can expect good news,” Stellar said with a grin as she accepted the documents. She waved at him before heading

The setting sun cast a warm, golden glow over her, making her seem almost radiant. Her bright smile was captivating, impossible to look away from.
“Interesting,” Shane murmured, a slight curve forming on his lips.
He made a mental note to brag to Stephen later–this time, he’d truly found a gem.
Meanwhile, Percy was seated in the guest lounge of Riverfront Corporation’s office tower, speaking with Zachary Grayson, the company’s CEO, who sat across from him.

“Mr. Grayson, I’m Percy Moore, CEO of Moore Enterprises and Yvonne’s fiancé. The partnership between Riverfront Corporation
and the Harlow family has always been a strong and fruitful one.
“I’m not sure what prompted you to cancel the investment, but I’d like to ask you to reconsider. Please give both families another chance to collaborate. I assure you that our technology and capabilities are solid and trustworthy.”
What Percy hadn’t anticipated was how young and remarkably composed Zachary was. Appearing no older than thirty, he exuded a natural charisma and authority befitting someone who ran such a prominent publicly traded company.
For years, Riverfront Corporation had been one of the Harlow family’s largest investors. Percy assumed their relationship was
secure, so the sudden withdrawal came as a shock.
Not that Percy was acting purely out of altruism–his true concern lay in the project’s shared stakes. The Moores were deeply tied
to it, meaning their fortunes were linked; its success or failure would affect them both.
Convinced that Zachary might not fully understand the project’s collaborative benefits, Percy had come fully prepared, confident
that his position and persuasion skills would win Zachary over.
But to his surprise, Zachary listened quietly, then responded with a faint, amused smile.
He swept his gaze over Percy and Yvonne as if sizing them up, before speaking
“I’m well aware this project is a joint venture between your two families. But tell me do you truly have the technical expertise, or even the integrity, to make it worth my continued investment?”
