Chapter 30
Could there be a man resembling

so much in this world?
Amelia was lost for words. For a while, she thought this was her father’s ghost.
The man in front her looked identical with her father. Wade Ellington. The only difference was that this man looked much older with wrinkles around his eyes.
But he had the same facial features and same expressions. When he furrowed, he furrowed exactly the same Wade did.
Amelia asked with uncertainty, Dad, is this really you?”
Wade was flustered when he was caught. Now he had controlled himself. He took a step towards the door when Amelia didn’t heed. But then he walked back, heaving a deep sigh
“Yes, it’s me.”
Nothing could be more shocking for Amelia. “How come, Dad? How is this possible! Didn’t you have an accident? What happened? Where have you been all these years? Why didn’t you go home and tell me? I thought I had lost you!”
Tears dropped out of her eyes like rain.
Wade flustered. He sounded guilty. “I’m sorry, Amelia. 1 indeed had a serious accident, but I was saved.
“Then why didn’t you tell me? Mom knows you’re alive, but she hides it from me, too. How can you two do this when I miss you so much alone? 1 thought I had forever lost you”
“I’m sorry, darling. We had to. There is some reason.
Amelia burst into hard cry. She had lived so bravely and lonely for all these years as a father–less child. Suddenly it was exposed as a lie. Grievance overwhelmed her. She couldn’t understand why her parents had done so..
But eventually, the joy of reuniting with Wade after the long departure outshone everything else.
She wiped away her tears and pursued, “Dad, how did you spend your last dozen years? You didn’t even have an ID card. And why did you lie to
Glad to reunite with Amelia, Wade’s eyes also turned red, but he could not answer her question at the moment. He sighed. “I can’t say it now. Give
me more time.”
Amelia nodded. “Of course. There’s no rush”
She felt as if something better than a dream had happened. Since her father was back to her miraculously, what did the rest things matter? She didn’t mind neglecting them.
The father and daughter hugged together and cried. Blood was thick than water. Even if there was still a long story untold, its significance simply diminished in the tears.
Overwhelmed by the ecstasy, Wade promised precipitately, “My dear daughter. I’ll never leave you again. I’ll stay with you and your mom
aboveboard”
“Oh, dad. It’s so great. Let the three of us never separate again.”
Wade didn’t know then that he would lose his life due to this promise.
Evelyn’s operation went very smoothly. She woke up the next day and the family of three enjoyed each other’s company with laughter and talk.
While they were talking, the door was suddenly knocked and in came a tall, thin man in a
He walked toward Amelia. “Good anoming. Mis Ellington. Pin Jackson Lorde, a solicitor from the Eponix Group

“Sure”
The news announced by Jackson was out of Amelia’s expectation. According to her knowledge of the Hartwell family, they were likely to play tricks even if they had promised her.
It was rare of them to be so straight and cooperative
Amelia put on light makeup and changed into a smart suit before setting out with Jackson.
After she arrived at the Eponix Group, she was brought into a small meeting room, where nobody but Theo was there.
It had been merely a few days since their last meeting. But Theo seemed to have lost a lot of weight. The light in. his overall look listless.

Jackson pulled a chair out for Amelia. He laid out two documents. This the equity interest transfer agreement. And this is Petition for Dissolution of Marriage. Please check the document before you sign”
Amelia studied the document carefully and ensured that there weren’t any terms against her before she signed her name.
But Theo didn’t move at all. He looked as numb and mononless as a statue
Jackson hit the desk hard with his fingers impatiently. “Please sign as soon as possibler“
Only then did Theo took the pen and signed his name slowly with trembling hand.
This done, he seemed exhausted and lifeless,
