Chapter 3
“Get off met Amelia screamed, thrashing wildly,
Her heart pounded as she fought with everything she had, but Damon only seemed more invigorated by her struggle.
His strength was overwhelming pressing down on her like an unstoppable tide, suffocating and relentless.
The
e sound of tearing fabric filled the room.
Amelia’s eyes widened in horror as she felt the cold air against her exposed shoulder.
Damon paused for a moment, his eyes lingering before he chuckled–a cold, mocking laugh that chilled her to the bonet
But that split second of distraction was all she needed.
Fueled by desperation. Amelia lunged forward and sank her teeth into his arm with all the force she could muster,
The metallic taste of blood hit her tongue as Damon roared in pain, jerking back instinctively.
Amelia didn’t hesitate. Adrenaline surging, she drove her knee into his stomach, catching him off guard and sending him staggering back.
Summoning every ounce of strength, she shoved him with all her might, throwing him off balance.
Damon stumbled, chanching his arm and wincing, momentarily disoriented.
Seizing her chance, Amelia grabbed her bag and darted for the door.
Her fingers fumbled with the handle before she flung it open, expecting relief and safety beyond the threshold.
Instead, she froze in place.
A crowd had gathered outside the door–her husband Theo at the center.
Behind him stood a mix of familiar faces: relatives, colleagues, acquaintances. All stared at her, their expressions a mix of pity, disgust, and judgment
Amelia’s body turned to ice. She glanced down at herself–com clothes, tangled hair, flushed face.
The damning image reflected back in their accusing stares.
Before she could speak, Theo let out a heavy, exaggerated sigh and pinched the bridge of his nose, a calculated performance of pain and disappointment.
“Amelia,” he said, his voice heavy with false heartbreak, “what are you doing in this room alone with another man? I trusted you… How could you do
this to met
Amelia opened her mouth to respond, but before she could form a word, Damon appeared behind her.
He leaned casually again the doorframe, his smirk infuriatingly smug.
“And who are you people to barge in here?” Damon said, his voice sharp and defiant. “Amelia and I have been together for six months. Whatever happens between us is none of your business.”
His words hit like a thunderclap.
Gasps rippled through the crowd, followed by a growing wave of whispers.
Passendey started gathering. Phones were already out, cameras raised to capture the scandal.
“she’s cheating someone said loudly.
Another voice chimed in, full of righteous indignation. Her husband’s so perfect, and she’s throwing it all away!
A few faces in the crowd, ones who had always disliked Amelia, looked gleeful, eager to twist the knife,
always seemed shady,” someone muttered, not bothering to keep their voice down. “But this? I didn’t think she’d go this fart”
Amelia’s checks burned with humuliation, but beneath the mortification, her rage simmered.

Each cruel word. every y accusing glance, only made one thing clearer this had been a trap.
This was Theo’s plan all along
He had orchestrated everything, ensuring she’d end up alone in the room with Damon, only to appear at the perfect moment with a carefully curated audience in tow,
The goal was clear: destroy her reputation, leave her disgraced and powerless.
Her eyes locked on Theo. His performance was flawless–the wounded, betrayed husband whose world had been shattered.
A pang of sorrow cut through her, mingling with her fury
The man who had whispered sweet nothings into her car just the night before, who had promised her love and loyalty. Had now orchestrated her downfall..
The truth struck her with devastating clarity: Theo wasn’t her husband anymore, not in any real sense.
He was her opponent in a game she hadn’t realized they were playing–a high–stakes baule where her life, her reputation, and everything she cared about was on the line
Amelia’s gaze turned sharp, her head held high as she met Theo’s eyes. Her voice was steady, yet carried a cutting edge. “You’re saying I cheated, hight
Theo crossed his arms, feigning exasperation. “Caught red–handed, Amelia. What more do you want to say? Everyone’s here, watching, I treated you so well, and this is how you repay me?”
Amelia’s brow arched slightly, her confidence unwav
unwavering “Don’t get too comfortable, Theo. Everything that happened when I entered that hotel room! I recorded it. I’ve got video evidence proving my innocence”
Theo froze, his expression faltering as his eyes flicked to her hand.
Amelia reached into her bag and pulled out a small device a discreet camera she’d planted carlier.
Originally, it was meant to catch Theo in the act of his own betrayal. Now, it was her trump card.
Calmly, she connected the camera to her phone, letting the footage play on the screen.
The crowd leaned in, watching intently as the events unfolded: Amelia being dragged into the room, Damon attempting to assault her, and her desperate struggle to escape.
“Take a good look, everyone,” Amelia said, holding the screen up for all to see.
Her tone was as cool as steel
The once–gawking onlookers fell silent. Some shifted uncomfortably, while hotel staff moved closer, trying to bring the escalating scene under control
But Amelia wasn’t about to let things end here. Theo had orchestrated this nightmare, and he wouldn’t escape accountability so easily.
Taking a step forward, Amelia locked eyes with him. “Now, tell me. Theo. From the time I entered that room to the moment you and your entourage burged in–what was it? Ten minutes, tops?
“You showed up so fast it’s almost like you’d planned this”
Then’s jaw tightened, lus usual composure cracking.
“You’re imagining things,” he muttered, his voice unsteady. “This… this is all a misunderstanding”
Their stares clashed, and the air between them was charged with hostility. Any trace of love had dissolved, leaving only the cold calculation of
adversaries
“And you” she said, her voice laced with venom. “Damon, isn’t it Everything that just happened–1 recorded
111 take this to the police, you’ll be in more trouble than you can handle. And these people out here! They’re all my witnesses
“So why dont y
( you explain-
i—why were you trying to frame tur?”
He laughed nervously, his bulky frame suddenly looking smaller, “Mrs. Hartwell, I. I made a mistake. Really. I apologize, Can’t we just forget this

He was still pretending.
Amelia’s glare didn’t waver. She reached for her phone, dialing the police.
The sight of her poised to press “Call” shattered whatever composure Damon had left.
His face twisted, and he groaned as if in pain. Then, to everyone’s shock, he pointed a trembling finger at Thes
“It was him,” Damon admitted, his voice low and bitter. “He paid me three grand to stage this. Told me to rip your clothes, leave a few marks… make it look convincing. Everything I did was on his orders”
