Chapter 7
The moment Merla saw her father step out of the Maybach, she eagerly ran over. “Dad! It’s her! She smashed my car! And Harry even helped her!”
Her father frowned, glancing at me casually.
A second later, his expression changed drastically.
His gaze snapped back to me, filled with caution.
“Young lady, may I ask your name?”
I wore a faint smile, my tone lazy. “Nicole.”
He narrowed his eyes slightly as if trying to figure out who I was.
I intentionally left out my last name. As expected, he did not recognize it. After all, no one
dared to address the Mafia Queen of the Genovese family, the head of the Four Major Mafia Families, by name alone.
“Ms. Nicole, my daughter claims that you smashed her car?”
I nodded leisurely. “That’s right.‘
Merla’s father clearly did not expect such a straightforward response. His face stiffened for a brief moment. “What exactly did Merla do to offend you so badly that you had to smash her car in front of everyone?
“There’s a saying, Ms. Nicole, ‘Don’t humiliate people in public‘. Surely, you understand
that?”
Hah. How amusing.
Like father, like daughter. Their way of speaking was identical.
