I saw on Hansel’s phone screen that it was a call from “Baby Vivi”.
I felt another sting in my heart.
Hansel had saved my contact in his phone as my full name, “Elara Fairlight”. When I found out about it, I wasn’t happy and asked him to change it.
“At least give me a cuter and more intimate nickname, like ‘Baby’ or ‘Love’, or even ‘Darling’. It sounds so cold with my contact saved as my full name.”
Hansel then explained, saying, “It’s for your safety that I’m saving your contact as your full name. Don’t you know how clever the online scammers are these days? They purposely choose the contacts with intimate nicknames in your contact list and scam them!
“Remember, you also shouldn’t save my contact as something that’s a dead giveaway, like ‘Hun’ or anything revealing. That way, we’ll be ahead of the scammers.”
Back then, I had naively believed him, thinking that he was doing this for my own good.
It only struck me now that if a man didn’t love a woman, he could turn into a stingy miser and refuse to give her even the privilege of being saved under a nickname in his phone contacts.
“Hello?”
Hansel picked up his phone and answered the call. He’d only spoken a single word into the call thus far, but it was filled with a loving gentleness that nobody else could ever receive from him.
“Not feeling well? Alright. I’ll be there in a second.”
Hansel hung up and got to his feet. “Violet isn’t feeling well, so I’m going back to be with her. You guys can continue drinking.”
Then, ignoring the other guys asking him to stay, Hansel turned and left without further ado.
“I never thought that Hans would be so concerned about Violet Lovelace.”
“Of course he would be! He spent 200 million dollars at the auction to get that engagement ring to propose to her without even batting an eye. Have you ever seen him spend a single penny on Elara? Not only that, but he even managed to convince her to give him money instead, like an idiot.”
“Honestly, that lady is quite a pitiful thing. She got played so hard by him. Did you see how pale she turned when he made fun of her on the yacht?”
The second guy leaned his elbow on the first guy’s shoulder, the one who wanted to toy around with me, and let out a lewd chuckle. “When you finally get a taste of her, you’d better treat her right, yeah?”
The first guy, Ian Walters, then laughed disdainfully in response. “She’s just a freebie anyway. At most, she’s worth an ice cream.”
“Don’t say that! After all, she used to belong to Hans. You might as well treat her like your sister-in-law!”
Haha. How funny.
As the guys continued cackling evilly, I found myself next to Hansel again. He was speeding down the highway to get to Violet as quickly as possible.
I sat in the passenger seat and turned my head to look at him.
Hansel was the most handsome man I had ever seen in my entire life. His facial features were very well-defined, and he looked perfectly photogenic from every angle anyone could ever think of.
He was a very handsome man, but he also had a cold and cruel heart.
I felt a wave of sadness wash over me. I had never once enjoyed the privilege of him getting anxious over a phone call from me or setting everything aside to be with me.
Whenever I told him I wanted to see him, he would either tell me that he was in the middle of a drive or was having a nap after manning the graveyard shift at work the night before. Hansel would only ever visit me if he was free, which wasn’t very often.
Yet, all it took was just one phone call from Violet for him to ditch his friends and rush over to keep her company.
The signs that he never loved me had been there since the start. However, I hadn’t noticed them. Instead, I chose to believe him when he told me verbally that he liked me. As such, I fell for him too hard and too deeply.
…
Violet was at the hotel. She was wearing a black slip dress that showed off half her chest. It was apparent from her outfit that she was planning to roll in the sheets with Hansel that night. No wonder she was at a hotel. It was probably because she didn’t want to be restricted at home.
The black slip dress was partially sheer as well. One could peek at her naked body underneath if they squinted a little harder. It somehow gave her a mysterious yet lustful appeal.
Violet was very well-endowed, and her figure was every man’s dream. As soon as Hansel caught sight of her, he swallowed thickly, his Adam’s apple bobbing quickly as he gulped.
He walked toward her and gently held her chin. Lust was brimming in his lit-up eyes as he asked, “You said you felt ill. Why are you wearing so little, then?”
A coquettish look appeared on Violet’s face as she slid her arms around Hansel. She was wearing the 200-million-dollar engagement ring on the middle finger of her left hand. It glinted so brilliantly under the light that it nearly blinded me.
I had always thought that I was Hansel’s official girlfriend. However, as it turned out, I had been nothing but a throwaway toy to him.
He’d once randomly twisted a blade of grass into a ring and put it on my left middle finger, which had made me fall even deeper for him. He then got me to work multiple odd jobs and sell my blood so that I could afford the 100 thousand dollars worth of pills that could save his life.
Meanwhile, he could spend 200 million dollars on a ring for someone else without batting an eyelid.
He was obviously treating Violet like his princess while treading on me like mud.
Violet leaned her head against Hansel’s chest, looking like a timid, helpless small rabbit. She then purred, “Hansel, you said that you’d always be with me after we got engaged. But it has been three days since, and you never came looking for me even once. That’s the only reason why I called you over today.”
While speaking, Violet lifted her head and looked at Hansel intensely. She looked coy as she stared at him. “Hansel, I’m ready for you tonight.”
I was shocked when I heard this. Surprisingly, Hansel hadn’t slept with Violet before!
The scent of roses was in the air, and the diffuser in the corner of the room let out a steady yet tiny wisp of smoke into the air.
Violet had chosen an essential oil that smelled like roses that day because it was supposed to help get them into the mood and drive libido.
Hansel was clearly getting turned on by her because of how sexy she looked. He dipped down and caught Violet’s earlobe between his lips and began to suck on it lightly.
Violet immediately let out a soft yet suggestive moan.
Meanwhile, I felt a painful throb in my heart.
This was Hansel’s favorite foreplay technique, and he was very good at it. Whenever he was with me in the past, he loved sucking on my earlobe every time we did it. That warm, moist sensation on my earlobe was also a huge turn-on for me. It got me wet in no time.
He once told me that my earlobes were very plump and suckable and that he loved the feeling of it in his mouth.
Obviously, he liked it just as much when he was sucking on another woman’s earlobes.
Violet was soon reduced to a puddle of goo in Hansel’s arms. They hadn’t even started on the main course yet, and she was already squirming and moaning aloud in pure bliss, making him even hornier than before.
Hansel picked her up and was about to carry her to the bed when his phone suddenly rang.
He hesitated.
Violet immediately snaked her arms around his neck and kissed him on the lips. “Hansel, I want you… Give it to me…”
Her voice was soft, sultry, and borderline pleading, hooking him in. However, Hansel still set her back down on the ground and pecked her apologetically on the cheek. “Let me get this call first.”
He took out his phone and saw that it was a call from the police station. He answered it and walked toward the window as he spoke.
He answered, “Hello?”
“May I know if this is Mr. Hansel Frost?”
“Speaking.”
“Good evening, Mr. Frost. I’m calling from the Grimlane police station.”
The policeman on the line sounded very polite and apologetic. After all, he was talking to one of the most prominent authorities in Allerton.
“I’m very sorry for interrupting your evening, Mr. Frost. But there’s been a case, and we would like to invite you down to the police station with us.”
…
Hansel looked dark and unhappy at the police station. He’d just been rudely interrupted, after all. “What is it that you want?”
The policeman who greeted him first offered him a warm mug of coffee. Then, he politely said, “It’s like this, Mr. Frost. We’ve recently received a missing persons report. The missing victim’s name is Elara Fairlight, and we found her phone somewhere near Lake Clearwater. The call logs indicate that the last person she called before going missing was you—”
“I believe that my assistant has already explained everything very clearly to you,” Hansel said, interrupting the officer mid-sentence. “Why did you still call me over?”
The officer quickly said, “Mr. Frost, it’s true that Mr. Taylor had already explained things to us, but we only just restored the data in Elara’s phone and found a photo showing you both in the same frame. That’s enough to prove that you both know each other—”
“What photo?” Hansel demanded, interrupting the officer again. He sounded particularly cold and cruel.
“Nudes?”
