Ivy stepped forward, claws out, protecting Lucas behind her, “Enough! How can you be sure these memories are real? As long as a werewolf’s mental power is strong enough, they can fabricate false memories!”
“It must be Grace, jealous that I raised such an outstanding son–my son has earned the Warrior’s Medal, while hers ran away like a coward! She must be making up these lies to smear my son!”
Seeing no one from the pack believe her, she turned to Anthony, her pleading eyes begging, “You know Lucas, he’s a well-
behaved child. How could he do something so horrible?”
Anthony suddenly looked up at me, as if seeing hope, and chose to believe Ivy’s words, “It’s all fake, isn’t it? You must have
hidden Andrew! He’s only ten years old! How could he fight so many lone wolves alone?”
“You’re lying, and not even trying to make it believable!”
“I know you must be heartbroken, and that’s why you’re telling such a monstrous lie. I promise I won’t punish him–please, let
him come back.”
By the end, Anthony’s voice trembled with emotion.

Chapter 5

I looked at him, and by now, I no longer felt sadness or anger.
All the hope I once had in him had died with my son.
“I am an adult wolf, a powerful Luna, and I can fabricate memories. But Lucas, a cub who’s so terrified he wets himself, his
memories are undoubtedly true.”
I leaned down and gently traced my claws across Lucas’s small face, “Are you willing to share your memories with the pack, to
prove your innocence? Don’t worry, I’ll bear the cost of forcing the memory sharing on you.‘
Lucas trembled in fear, baring his teeth and growling, “I don’t want to! You old witch, stay away from me!”
I wasn’t interested in Lucas’s memories, but the fact that he couldn’t even prove his own courage was enough to reveal the truth to every werewolf in the room–he was the one who bullied, deceived, and killed Andrew!
That was enough.
“I… I will share my memories with the pack.”
A soft, youthful voice suddenly spoke, as a small cub peeked out from behind their parents.
