As Lila and I headed back, Jonah walked up to us, holding the scarf I’d left in the room.
“Here, put this on. Don’t catch a cold,” he said gently, wrapping it around my neck.
Eric also hurried over. However, instead of going to Lila, he glared coldly in our direction, his eyes fixed on Jonah.
I shot him a puzzled look, and he immediately stepped closer.
“Gina, the lake’s frozen now–perfect for ice fishing. You mentioned wanting to try it before, so how about I take you later?” Eric offered.
I glanced up at Jonah. “Is that true? Did I say I wanted to try ice fishing before? Can you take me instead?”
“Sure. Let’s go back and change into something warmer first.” Jonah agreed and led me away.
