Jonah continued, “You’ve got a new girlfriend now, and you seem to like her a lot. Didn’t you say so yourself?”

“Lila and I agreed from the start that it was just a fling!” Eric sounded almost desperate. “I never said I was giving up on Gina. Not to mention, I’m the one she loves! Jonah, how could you take advantage of my girlfriend like this? I thought you hated her.”

Jonah chuckled. “I never said that. You all just assumed.”

“I never thought you’d have such disgusting intentions toward Gina,” Eric growled furiously. “You’re just taking advantage of the situation!”

“Eric, don’t get it wrong. You were the one who told Gina I was her boyfriend. You were the one who pushed her into my arms. Since that’s the case, how about you be with Lila, and I’ll be with Gina? Wouldn’t that make everyone happy?”

Eric chuckled coldly. “I’ll break things off with Lila right now and win Gina back. I know she loves me, so there’s no way she’d choose you!”

I sat in the nearby dining room, leisurely eating my meal. But then I noticed Lila, who had been eavesdropping outside Eric’s door, suddenly ran off in a panic after hearing what he said.

That afternoon, Lila suggested we take a walk by the river. Then, she suddenly handed me her phone. “Gina, I want to show you something. I took these from Eric’s phone.”

Her phone was filled with intimate photos of Eric and me. I handed the phone back to her. “What’s your point?”

Lila sneered. “Eric is your real boyfriend. That’s why there are so many intimate photos of you two. He lied to you. Jonah was never your boyfriend—it was always Eric! He just used your memory loss as an excuse to push you onto Jonah so he could be free.

“And Jonah went along with it. They’ve both been playing you this whole time. You’re nothing but a joke! As your friend, I couldn’t stand watching you be fooled any longer. I had to tell you the truth!”

Lila spilled everything, hoping that the truth would hurt me enough to make me walk away.

Yet, my expression didn’t even change. Instead, I smiled, asking, “So what? I’m quite happy with things as they are now. Jonah isn’t any worse than Eric.”

Lila stared at me in wide-eyed disbelief. “How can you possibly be okay with this?”

Suddenly, a thought seemed to hit her, and she stammered, “You… You didn’t actually lose your memory, did you?”
