Then he remembered her words from that night

Jasper, don’t lie to me. If I caught you lying, I’d never forgive you. I’ll leave you for good.”

No, that couldn’t be. They were at sea. Selena couldn’t possibly leave

Jasper’s eyes reddened, but the ominous feeling only tightened its grip on him

Just then, a staff member approached him

Sir, a lady asked me to give this to you. She also left a message: Selena Long doesn’t want you anymore.”

Jasper froze, staring at the phone. It was Selena’s, but what did she mean by saying she didn’t want him anymore

Grabbing the staff member’s arm, he demanded, Where is she? Where did she go?”

The staff member pointed toward the horizon. The lady left on a boat two hours ago.”

Jasper’s strength drained away as he stared blankly at the dark expanse of the sea. It took him a long moment to register the

words

Selena left? She was gone

Nothat’s impossible,Jasper muttered, shaking his head in disbelief. She wouldn’t leave. She promised she’d wait for me on

the deck. It’s late. Where could she possibly go?”

He fumbled for his phone, desperate to call her. But when the phone she had left behind vibrated in his hand, his mind went

blank, and he forgot how to breathe

The light cast over him added an invisible weight of loneliness

Suddenly, a string of notifications appeared on the screen

Jasper’s face darkened as he read through the messages.

Old hag, at least you know your place and left on your own.”

Since you’ve left, don’t ever come back. Don’t make me despise you even more.”

His breath caught, his fingers trembling as he scrolled further. Each message struck harder than the last until he could barely

bear to look

Selena knew all along that he was lying to her. She knew he hadn’t cut ties with Molly

She even knew about the contraceptives in her milk

Jasper suddenly bent over, gasping for air, his chest tightening with unbearable pain

Selena

Selena

His Selenahad really left him

Molly smirked as she sent another shameless message, reveling in the satisfaction of humiliating Selena

Suddenly, the door slammed open with a loud bang

Jasper stood in the doorway, his face dark and his presence radiating an icy chill

Molly froze for a moment, startled, but quickly regained her composure. She smiled brightly and rushed toward him

Jasper, you’re back! Did your wife finally go to bed? Then stay with me tonight, okay? You have no idea how much I’ve missed

you. I can’t stand being apart from you for even a second.”
