When I heard Ethan had come, the smiles on both my and Lily’s faces instantly vanished.
Given Ethan’s abilities since becoming the Shadow Moon Alpha, I wasn’t at all surprised he found us so quickly.
I straightened my Silver Crescent heir ceremonial clothing, the silver ornaments jingling as I headed to the village entrance.
Before I even reached the gates, I could hear my pack sisters‘ taunting voices from a distance:
“So you’re the man Autumn chose? You look useless to me.”
“Exactly! He doesn’t even look strong. I wouldn’t give him a second glance.”
“Hey, if you were buying him, how many amethysts would you offer?”
“Pfft, amethysts? This type is worth ten common healing crystals at most!”
Ethan’s gloomy voice carried over to me:
MASTOUP “A group of women judging men, the world’s truly turned upside down!”
“I don’t want to argue with you. Go get Autumn.”
My sisters didn’t appreciate this. “That’s rich! Since when are men above being judged?”
“A little man who sits around drinking tea dares to talk down to us working women who support our families?”
I patted my sisters‘ shoulders, walking through the path they cleared for me.
“Why are you here? I believe I said we shouldn’t meet again,” I said coldly.
I hadn’t expected Ethan would look like this when I saw him again.
