Adam clenched his phone tightly and asked urgently, “Explain. What happened to Ginnie? Where is she now?”
At that moment, he could not wait to meet Ginnie. He had already made up his mind. He was going to protect her and not let anyone hurt her anymore.
But in the next second, what Leo said made Adam feel as if he had been struck by lightning.
“Mrs. Grant got into a cab two hours ago, but the car got into an accident and exploded. She died in the explosion… and only her
ashes remain.”
Adam flew into a rage. “What on earth are you saying?! How could there be an explosion?! Ginnie was fine this morning, and I even saw her! How could she be dead now?!
“I know. She’s mad at me, isn’t she? Are you two working together to punish me through this?”
“Mr. Grant…” Leo wiped away his sweat and said helplessly, “You can come to the funeral home in the southern suburbs to take a look. Mrs. Grant’s ashes are here.”
Adam put his phone down in a daze. Like a dead man walking, he dragged his feet outside.
While he drove, he kept mumbling to himself, as if he was trying to convince himself, “This is impossible. Ginnie, don’t crack
such a joke with me.
“>
But the increasing acceleration of the car revealed just how panicked he felt.
After Adam got out of the car, he was unable to squash down his panic anymore. Like a mad man, he charged into the funeral
home.
He immediately saw Leo holding the urn. With him was a group of judicial officers dressed in professional attire.
“Mr. Grant, Ginnie Sullivan, your wife, passed away today at 16:20. My condolences.”
Adam’s ears rang. He grabbed the urn from Leo’s hands and placed it over his chest before he shut his eyes in despair.
Even so, he kept repeating these words, “That’s impossible. How could she leave me? Ginnie, please come back. I’m really
sorry…
“)
Despite being almost 6’2“, he fell to the floor with no care for his image and started bawling while holding onto the urn.
Once Snow received the news, she rushed to the funeral home.
She never expected to be able to get rid of Ginnie so easily.
While withholding the glee in her heart, she went to Adam and started putting up a good show of consoling him. “Adam, I know that you’re sad. No one would want Ginnie to leave us like this, but you can’t change what has happened. Those who are still alive have to keep on living.

“I’m here for you. Look at me, Adarn. If you’re willing to believe in me, I’m willing to live the rest of my life with you in Ginnie’s
place.‘
“}
“Get out of my face!” Adam flung Snow’s hand away from his shoulder and roared, “You better watch what you say! I will only ever have Ginnie as my wife, and you’re never going to take her place! You’re not welcome here! Leave!”
Snow was shoved to the floor, and her arms were bruised. In disbelief, she looked at Adam with teary eyes.
It was the first time Adam exploded on her since she got to know him.
“What’s wrong, Adam? I know that you’re in a bad mood now, but how could you hurt me because of it?”
Adam’s eyes turned cold. He solemnly placed the urn back in Leo’s hands before he grabbed Snow’s neck.
The astonishing strength made Snow almost unable to breathe. In her panic, she smacked his arm. “A–Adam… let me… go…‘

But Adam ignored her struggles and tears. He just whispered a warning into her ear, “You’re not the girl from all those years ago, are you? I’m going to make you pay for lying to me. I have something more important to do right now. If you don’t want to die,
get out of my sight.”

He threw her to the floor, and Snow stared at Adam like he was a demon.
In fear, she scrambled backwards before quickly getting to her feet and running away.
